The Constitution guarantees a Republic, not a Democracy. The US is a Republic, and the fact that we have a Constitution makes us a "Constitutional Republic". The US is the oldest CR in the world.

Constitutional Republic.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Article IV, Section 4.

Obama knows this is the fault of the film maker, he will not try to declare war on anyone. The filmmaker is going to be arrested, charged with inciting a riot, the riots will calm down, everything will go on as normal (whatever that is).

For the record, I am not saying that the film justifies the actions of these muppets, it is just an excuse for them, but by taking action against the filmmaker the west will show these clowns that it is unacceptable and hopefully by pressing charges they will stop.

There is information coming out now that these attacks were a co-ordinated effort and not a grassroots demonstration of the people. It wasn't a riot, but a planned and co-ordinated attack to mark the 9/11 anniversary.

The filmmaker was exercising his freedom of speech. I'm concerned that some Muslims would reach with violence and murder to a work of art.

I used the term 'DEMOCRACY" in responding to another member(not you), who used that term. Here in the US, people refer to the US as a democracy. Parsing words do not change anything about what I said. Now if you wish to comment on the content of what I said, and not make trivial comments that have nothing to do with the issue, go ahead. You don't seem to understand that regardless of what you call it, the CONSTITUTION, which dictates what our officials can do, is violated daily by the last several Presidents, and has been probably since its inception.

I don't think it is 'trivial', I prefer precision. It's a common error since the FDR days to begin calling our form of government a "democracy", and that's incorrect. I wasn't challenging your overall comment, merely pointing out the error you made in proclaiming that the US is a democracy when we are not, especially to say the Constitution guarantees us one. Article IV, Section 4 does not say that, it says we are guaranteed a republic.

What i am saying is that the US will not be able to contain this uprising and that it makes them look weaker by the days to get their embassy attacked.

The big question is, "why are all these embassies being attacked." Is it really just because of a movie?" For the last 11 years we've been occupying and trying to influence the middle east. Maybe, no matter how radical these people are, they've just reached their tipping point.

We need to stop reaching for the gun and start thinking about why is there so much anger toward the U.S.? Then maybe we can change our warmongering attitudes and start implementing a policy of peace rather than a policy of intimidation and control.

We may not agree with their rule of law or their religion, but the majority of their people do. Until they see otherwise, and want to change for themselves, we shouldn't become involved, period.

correct

the real anger comes from people being sick and tired of US and
Israeli sabotage over the years.

Wars
Abduction
Torture
Murder
Mind Control
Genetic experimentation
Political Subterfuge
Financial Plunder

And of course who can forget present day enlargement of Israeli territory
by force by the so called "illegal settlements"

Israel is the ONLY country that literally grows its borders by force and no
one in the western world says they shouldn't do it.

Wow man deja vu im sure i read this nearly exact post before on the site somewhere.....heavy coinkydink dont you think?

In spite of what Barack and Hillary would like us all to believe, these protests are really NOT about a video (the video is a pretext, at best). WHAT video was responsible for the original 9-11?
These are ANTI-American protests and acts of violence, NOT ANTI-Video! Listen to the chants (Death To America!)! This mid-east meltdown...is ABSOLUTELY about weak U.S. leadership and foriegn policiy stupidity.
THIS is the President's and his Secy Of State's mess!

I understand what you are saying. Technically, the US is a republic, but see this:

By popular usage, however, the word "democracy" come to mean a form of government in which the government derives its power from the people and is accountable to them for the use of that power. In this sense the United States might accurately be called a democracy. However, there are examples of "pure democracy" at work in the United States today that would probably trouble the Framers of the Constitution if they were still alive to see them. Many states allow for policy questions to be decided directly by the people by voting on ballot initiatives or referendums.

In this sense the United States might accurately be called a democracy.

That doesn't change what Article IV, Section 4 states though. Furthermore, people don't want a democracy, that's rule by popular vote. In a Republic, the rights of the minority are protected from majority vote. Benjamin Franklin accurately described a Democracy:

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for dinner."

Or, the U.S could just shut down their embassies in said countries and be done with it. If they're not wanted, they're not wanted. The U.S has no reason to go to war towards a country that does not want them there.

It's worse than war. It is an act of murder. Sometimes, war is justified, such as if we are attacked, and are defending ourselves. The drones are quite indiscriminate, and unless a terrorist is sitting out in a desert all alone, which is quite unlikely, innocent people will most likely be killed.
