I don't disagree. Do you think that the people really running the country would allow someone that is competent to be nominated, let alone get elected?

Damn right. And didn't Canada also close it's Iranian embassy and send them home?

I hope this don't get ugly.

It is a pity that USA and Britain, claiming to be great democracies, are giving all out support to a naked military dictatorship that seeks to destabilize the largest democracy in the world through the lethal weapon of terrorism.USA is well aware that Pakistan has played the role in nuclear proliferation, and still has chosen to ignore it.
Recently on the foreign tour, Pakistan president Gen. Pervez Musharraf said that Pakistan would be forced to press the nuclear button if it found itself losing in the conventional war against India. USA and UK, even the world has chosen to remain silence in this matter.
How can we expect peace in the South Asia when it openly supports a terrorist state that harbors the largest number of terrorist outfits?it is clearly visible that US is having double standards regarding the terrorism, nuclear proliferation,
USA is formulating its foreign policy which suits its interest most. In one go, it destroyed Iraq, and till the date no trace of biological, chemical and nuclear weapons has been found..
im tired of the war games..

One slight problem, the US is a Republic. It's the oldest Constitutional Republic on Earth.

And it's all Canada's fault.

The US should attack Canada, it's closer, will cost less and will be over quicker.

On 9/11 some joker made a bomb threat at the walmart half a mile from my house. Don't know if its related at all, but the timing is certainly interesting. They shut the whole place down. I heard about it that day from my receptionist. Didn't think anything of it till other cities had bomb threats made to their businesses as well.

Embassy attacks are nothing to declare a war over.

If you want a war, why don't you go over there and fight it by yourself? Or do you expect other people to do it for you?

Well I guess we were told back in 2007... You've probably seen this before but I think its a cogent reminder of where we are today.

Wesley Clark: Youtube.com

Transcript:

About ten days after 9/11 I went to the penatagon and I say secretary Rumsfield and Deputy Secretary Wolfweitz.

I went down stairs to see some of the staff who used to work for me and one of the Generals called me in and said “Sir, you have got to come in. Come in, you have got to come in and talk to me a second.”

I said “Well, your to busy”.

He said, “No, No, we have made the decision to go to war with Iraq”. This was on or about the 20th of September [2001].

I said “We are going to war with Iraq? Why” [emphasis added].

He said, “I don’t know” [crowd laughs]

He said, “I guess they don’t know what else to do”. [crowd boos].

So I said “Well did they find come information connecting Saddam to Al-Queda?”

He said, “No, No. There is nothing new that way, they just made the decision to go to war with Iraq.”

He said, “I quess its like, we don’t know what to do about terrorists but we have a good military and we can take down governments”

So I came back to see him a few weeks laters and by that time we were bombing in Afghanistan.

I said “Are we still going to war with Iraq?”

And he said “Oh, its worse than that.”

He reached over on his desk and picked up a piece of paper.

He said, “I just got this down from up stairs from the Secratary of Defense’s office today. This is a memo that describes how we are going to take out 7 countries in 5 years.”

“Starting with Iraq, then Syria and Lebenon. Then Lybia, Somalia and Sudan. Then finishing off Iran.”

So to sum it up, violence has erupted (again) in these countries (plus a few others for good measure) in the last few days...
Iraq: Check
Syria: Check
Lebenon: Check
Sudan: Check
Somalia: Pending
Iran: Pending

I personally believe the United States has secretly technologically surpassed all other nations x10. We waste too much money on our Military power to not have "super weapons" by now. If you thought we would allow a nation like Russia to have a larger nuclear arsenal while we slowly decreased ours without something else in the works you're delusional. Not to mention unknown weapons have been reportedly used in the Middle East. I'd say they're waiting for something, trying to finish a project. This seems like something more than Obama waiting to get reelected before launching an attack. You're right something BIG is coming, but Iran won't be the only ones we declare war against.

Great points, and a star.
If the project you may be alluding to is something aggressive, we groundlings have
all been kept out of the info loop. I'm also quite sure the weaponry stash presently
aquired isn't going to be used in a defensive posture. With all the important people
(you and I may likely not qualify) either dug in or moved out with a healthy supply
of plopcorn to munch, I also am more concerned over how motivated TPTB will
not do too much to defend those who have outlived their productivity, aka
usefulness... the husks of the Corn Belt and all others in the good ol' Homeland.
Hey, I'm one of 'em. "That's an awful lot of targets..." John Lithgow, "The Day After"
"..and if I die before I wake, I wouldn't be a bit surprised."
The latter quote was no movie. It was a disappointed re- ending of the child's prayer
by one beautiful, blazingly intelligent 8 year old girl. Her mother and I took turns
crying that night.. not really in shame, or guilt quite as much as helplessness.
Some of the more evil of us might indeed deserve a quicker form of damnation.
Too bad that many more who tested in this life as less so must buy it as well.
Well, bombs don't use federal guidelines for entitlement do they?

correct

the real anger comes from people being sick and tired of US and
Israeli sabotage over the years.

Wars
Abduction
Torture
Murder
Mind Control
Genetic experimentation
Political Subterfuge
Financial Plunder

And of course who can forget present day enlargement of Israeli territory
by force by the so called "illegal settlements"

Israel is the ONLY country that literally grows its borders by force and no
one in the western world says they shouldn't do it.

I hate to use this one but...

Here's one for all the extremists out there whether it be religious or otherwise...

The world would be a far better place if we could just simply abide by these two clips.

Greed and evil will never take a backseat to peace unfortunately.

Not when you topple countries and force them to buy your crap. Go ask the Iraqis how they like their Dodge and GM vehicles.

War also fixes the problem of Detroit. If the American middle class is gone and Americans can't buy Detroit vehicles....force those countries you toppled to buy them.

I can't comment on Canada, but the US stopped being a democracy when Presidents started ignoring the fact that Congress alone has the authority to make laws, and started issuing "Executive Orders" to bypass the democratic system set up by the Constitution. We are nothing but a petty dictatorship where people go to the polls and select one of two puppets placed on the ballot by crooks in smoke filled rooms.
