I don't get it...I mean I really don't get it! What is going on with these people? Is it drugs? Is it a strange virus of some sort? Or is it some new form of mental illness? Whatever it is, it has me baffled and a little scared, just to be honest. I really hope I don't come across one of these crazed people anytime soon...no make that EVER! I would prefer keep my brains and facial tissue in tact and not gnawed off by a zombie, but that's just me.

Cimino tackled one of the women to the ground, covering her in his blood, the trooper said. Then, he began to “gnaw at (her) head, screaming like an animal,” Aulisio said.

What also makes these cases so strange is the "zombie's" heightened strength and pain tolerance. As you can read in the news article, this guy jumps out a 2-story window, then tries to chew a woman's head off, was tazed by police, but was still able to punch an EMT in the face afterward. The zombie later required plastic surgery for his injuries yet he was able to continue his rampage while that badly injured...eerily unbelievable!

PCP. But, in our society now a days the social media can show everything. Everyone has a camera on a corner. I am sure this has happened in the past.

Horrific that things like this continue to happen. I've heard of mass murderers, but rampaging cannibals in broad daylight are now another concern on the streets of America? There must be something in the air. I don't what to say.

I would have to agree with the PCP possibility. If there is a toxicology report done it would be worth looking at.

Apparently no drugs have been found in any of the previous zombies' systems.

So it's still up in the air as to what is causing this. Florida, LA, now Pennsylvania.

hmmm, weather imbalances and now the zombies have gone north for the winter ... wooooohoooo ... maybe they'll head on over to Chicago soon -- lots of brains on the streets there these days

That's what I was going to say, nothing showed in the toxocology report for the Miami cannibal.

This is getting quite alarming.

Edit: I take that back, I believe marijuana was in the Miami cannibal's system. I've heard of the munchies but that's a little ridiculous.

You may be right, but that doesn't really put my mind at ease that much.

Like any good conspiracy theorist I'm gonna say I think the government and CDC know what's causing this but like always they aren't letting us in on the secret.

Well at least this "zombie" wasn't shot by police so maybe, just maybe they can interview this guy and find out what happened, if he even remembers.

I thought this phenomenon like the crazed mass shooters was all linked to individuals coming down off their "legal" pain and anti-depressant meds that doctors love to throw around these days.... Of course the legal drugs never are mentioned in the toxicology reports...

I like watching the walking dead. I think it would be amazing if we had to live threw that. Like from all the walking dead fans I've talked to they're all basically hoping they'd get a chance to live threw such an event. The reality of which would be far different than in the movies so, I'd rather just watch the show, but it looks pretty wild. I mean, looks like a thrill ride basically. It would be so wild! Basically you'd be fighting for your survival. That would tend to make life ultra real, instead of this luxury zombie life we live now where everything, such as hollywood etc etc is all so fake. All the luxuries and comforts we have basically keep people in a dream like state. Not that many know what it's like to truely live life on the edge. Unless they just so happen to be one of the rare few who've done something extrodinary like circumnavigate the globe or see combat etc etc. So if there was a mass outbreak that would be pretty wild I'd say. But then reality would likely set in and it would suck balls. No toilet paper left, probably no deoderant, toothpaste, soap, no candy or chocolate, no electricity, or utilities, very little food. people trying to eat you. ahhh ah-oh ...ha ha

'___'?

I seem to remember some "experiments" in the past on soldiers? Supposedly taken to make them impervious to pain and to make them hyper aggressive? I believe it help when all else failed including running out of bullets?

It might be my imagination but wasn't Jacob's ladder (90's Film) based on this?

Wait, are you saying the 'Zombie' got better. That's good news, we already have a cure.

On one hand, I think that these kinds of things happen from time to time. You know, people ingest a drug, or alcohol, some reaction happens, and a primal insanity occurs.

These recent cases however seem different. This extreme case in flordia might have brought on the interest of similar cases into the mainstream eye, but I don't know.

I think it would be interesting to find out if these 4 or 5 cases had anything in common, as in a single male living alone with limited social interactions...perhaps a few more details and there actually could well be a pattern.

Testing for these Chinese made synthetic drugs(bath salts, spice) is difficult, because you have 30-40 similar yet distinct variations.

I however do not think that the possibility that these cases are test subjects for some new virus whomever is willing to unleash to the masses is completely out of the question.

We all *"know"* the zombie apocalypse is coming...why not make it a government/secret society sponsored apocalypse. Weed out some of our overpopulation. After all, various government agents are currently/soon to be very well stocked on ammo, right?

Good point! But we'll probably never get a follow-up story. But now that you've mentioned this, I think I will check periodically to see if maybe that town's website where the original story came from releases a follow-up.

Keep us posted, would be nice to find out the back story. However, I think more than likely we will get something like the suspect doesn't remember anything, in fact, he will probably have the James Holmes look about him.
