in islam,you cannot depict any likeness of any living thing,because muslims think by doing so you are taking on the role of god by creating something only the creator can do,which is blasphemy.
this is why muslim art is all intricate designs. it is a way of meditating about god.
a lot like celtic knots,or rosary beads.

a blasphemy much like depicting jesus with dirty blonde hair,light complexion,and blue eyes!!!!

Ok... so they cannot recreate something already created because "god" holds the copywrites. but creating something entirely out of their mind, isnt considered being like god? creating something out of nothing? ...cause... that...makes....sense.

I have to say, who cares. All religious zealots of any denomination need to grow up and understand that some of us dont believe in sky fairies. Stopped believing in the tooth fairy and santa a bloody long time ago and the same holds for some omnipotent vengeful being who will smite me down to an eternity of hell and damnation because i dont believe

I have the same opinion as yourself with regard to religion. I think we just have to evolve another 100 or so years more before we could have any kind of real peace.

But still I think the Muslim's of the world have been antagonized a few too many times in recent years, and I could hardly blame them for rising up and raging against the machine. And walking straight into the trap.

What is your point? It offends muslims so we should at least show a little bit of respect towards their belief system whether we believe it or not. Why would someone want to draw another religions prophet anyway?

I must apologize. I did post something on this thread I should not have, I was warned, it was deleted but decided to apologize to everyone anyway. I was wrong and I hope that despite all of the negative things going on worlwide and in the most tense areas... I hope things work out for the best and a better future awaits us all.
