Oki Doki so what do YOU think this little black dot in the sky on Mars is?

Was looking at images of the MAHLI Cam and saw a black dot in the sky behind the rover near the top of the image.
24.media.tumblr.com...

What on earth/mars is that?

Dust. Like the one on the left (middle).
Or, pixel problems.

Might be 'mud' flying off of Curiosity's tires.

At least another thread said there was mud on the tires.

My guess is Venus. But then again I'm no astrologer.

Swamp gas?

Really though, with out knowing the exact location of the rover and the direction of the camera we really can't eliminate anything.

Nasa is damned if it does damned if it doesn't, all these nasa conspiracies rely on nasa being complicit in hiding evidence.

So you would think if there was anything real nasa would photo shop it out if it was actually something important, so Im leaning toward something on the lens or an astronomical object such as Venus or even an orbiter (there are a few)

Does anyone know if Mars atmosphere is thin enough to see orbiting sat's in day time?

What on earth/mars is that?

Probably the same thing that appears in exactly the same place in this image:

I agree that this speck in the picture is most likely dust or dirt on the camera lens. But Phage, your first pic example is a penny. If there are floating coins on Mars, I want to go there. Maybe find a few Susan B Anthony dollars even.

Phage --
You just proved that the dot is an intelligently controlled object.

I mean, how else would it be smart enough to know how to get in the exact same position on all of those pictures taken by the MAHLI camera?

Like the guy said it "looks like a bird" that is what it looks like to me...I doubt that's what it is though. Looks more like a bird than the pics of the wheels on this post look like they have mud on them.

Chinese Lantern? Its probably its moon, Phobos. My "scientific" guess.

Funny thing about that "dot" is it's not round as the others are. It's oval and does appear to have shadows. Try enlarging it. Ah it's probably a bird or what ever. We'll never know the truth. Funny thing about the truth - no one can disprove going to Mars, but no one can prove it either.

All of you seem to have missed Phage's post here...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

...which shows several other different pictures from the MAHLI camera, with that same spot in the exact same place in all of the images -- Therefore it is simply something (such as dust) on the lens.

Yes I see it now. Didn't see his post. Man that guy is on top of everything. NASA should hire him. Oh maybe they did already? LOL

Ya I say its just dust, dirt or whatever on the camera, at first could seem interesting but when other pictures of the drone or robot thing has a dot on the robots area then its obvious its just dust/dirt on the camera

That's it. Oh well, it was worth asking though to be fair.

I hate to post that Phage is right, but he is. And I also noticed atleast another 3 specks on each picture that remain on most images. So as much as I want Martians... Glad to see this be solved once and for all.

Or not a speck of dust, but "dead pixels", according to NASA. Same s***.

I didn't see any confirmation of what it is...However, whatever it is, considering it is in the exact same spot on every image from that camera, it is not really an "object", but something to do with the camera (whether it be dead pixels or something on the lens). That much is obvious.
