One of Obama's platforms he ran on was promising economic recovery. So we must ask this question, "Are we better oof with Obama than when we were without him?

The answer is no. According to this, there has been no real recovery and the economy has gotten worse. Here's how:

Median incomes: These have fallen 7.3% since Obama took office, which translates into an average of $4,000. Since the so-called recovery started, median incomes continued to fall, dropping $2,544, or 4.8%.

• Long-term unemployed: More than three years into Obama's recovery, 811,000 more still fall into this category than when the recession ended.

• Poverty: The poverty rate climbed to 15.1% in 2010, up from 14.3% in 2009, and economists think it may have hit 15.7% last year, highest since the 1960s.

• Food stamps: There are 11.8 million more people on food stamps since Obama's recovery started.

Disability: More than 1 million workers have been added to Social Security's disability program in the last three years.

Gas prices: A gallon of gas cost $1.89 when Obama was sworn in. By June 2009, the price was $2.70. Today, it's $3.84.

Misery Index: When Obama took office, the combination of unemployment and inflation stood at 7.83. Today it's 9.71.

Union membership: Even unions are worse off under Obama, with membership dropping half a million between 2009 and 2011.

Debt: Everyone is far worse off if you just look at the national debt. It has climbed more than $5 trillion under Obama, crossing $16 trillion for the first time on Tuesday and driving the U.S. credit rating down.

So really, Obama hasn't really done anything for this country. So why are people still voting for him since he is not helping us?

I don't get it. Any other President would lose a lot of votes under these conditions. But I digress.

Obama hasn't done anything to improve our economy like he promised he would.

Food-stamp use reached a record 46.7 million people in June, the government said, as Democrats prepare to nominate President Barack Obama for a second term with the economy as a chief issue in the campaign.

It sure doesn't look like much of a recovery to me! How can anyone say we are in a recovery when more and more people are relying on the teat of the government to just feed their families?

You are Right! I have so many friend that are STILL unemployed ....How do you get a new job after working for a company after 30 plus years of service when you are over 55 years old?

I have had 3 friend that have lost there homes!
They say we have a unemployment rate of %8.3.
BULL CRAP! that is what is reported by large companies that lay off 100 or more personal and based on people receiving unemployment.
But in my state %85 are small businesses, these people do not get underemployment Insurance, so in the real world our state's unemployment is more like %23. There are facts to back these numbers up.

Sad to say it is so bad one of my friends that lost his home and had kids....could not take it anymore and took his own life!

I am not saying Mitt could do much better but Obama had his shot and blew it!
Oh, my business thanks to Obama Care is down %60!

It depressing to say the least. I feel bad for all the kids going to college, graduating with degrees and get loaded with debt up to their eye balls with no job to pay them off with. I know a guy who is 45 years old and still paying off his student debt!!!!

I dont know one person, not one that is better off today then 4 years ago, heck make it 8 years ago. Its all been down hill this pasted decade! There might be a few people that are doing better but i can sure bet your there kids and grandkids wont be after getting footed the bill

Obama at some time just has to own it instead playing the blame game. Would you please explain in more detail how Obamacare has negatively impacted your business? I think people need to read/see first hand what is happening and will continue to happen throughout our country. Thank you.

You act as if that is the whole issue that was voted on. What little bits of pork were also attached to that bill? Throw in some real doozy riders on a good bill then you get to accuse the other guys for their heartless vote!

Sure, Obama failed to follow through on his promise, but what power does he actually have to make it happen?

He has to go through congress to pass legislation and it is the congress that we need to place blame on as well. Blaming the president is the easy way out because it doesn't require you to look at your own representative and hold their feet to the fire.

There is no "recovery"

All we can do is continue to print and act like there is no problem. This will only delay the impending collapse.

America just needs to hit the 'reset' button.

The current state of our political and governmental status is out of control. We need to just start ejecting fools.
Put on our virus protection, and do a complete system restore.

... or we can continue to let parties and jackasses such as this determine the outcome of our country.
Personal interests before peoples interest is how it is played.

Take your party and pride out of the equation, and turn on the tv or alternative news source. Then tell me all you do not see is madness, chaos.

they are playin everyone, and everyone buys into it.
