…Col. Alexander organized and chaired six major conferences on non-lethal warfare and served as a US delegate to four NATO studies on the topic.

As a member of the first Council on Foreign Relations non-lethal warfare study, he was instrumental in influencing the report that is credited with causing the Department of Defense to create a formal Non-Lethal Weapons Policy in July 1996. He was a distinguished guest lecturer at the US Air Force Air University and has advised the CIA, US Special Operations Command, and the National Intelligence Council…

…In addition to Colonel Alexander, the Harrington Group Advisory Board will boast a membership of world renowned homeland security and industry experts who will provide input into the Company's product development, commercialization and overall business strategy.

CIA "adviser." 4 NATO studies? Council on Foreign Relations? Give that man a Blue Beret!

Note the word "commercialization," in the last paragraph above. Isn't that nice?

Protecting international "business" interests too! God bless him! :

(OTC Bulletin Board: UGHO), an emerging global leader in non-lethal protection products and security services to protect against terrorist, criminal and security threats to governments and businesses worldwide, is pleased to announce that Colonel John Alexander (US Army Retired) has joined the Company's board of advisors.

The Colonel, as evidenced by the press releases, is also associated with the Pakistani Company SecureRisks:

It provides business risk mitigation and strategic security solution services, security systems as well as certifications to businesses, financial institutions, government departments, embassies, militaries, non-government organizations, multi-national corporations and high net worth individual clients.

Remain flexible and responsive to your needs and project
Improve the value and status of the security provided to you
Innovate to provide you with cost-effective solutions.

Isn't Pakistan the country we allegedly had to do an end-around-run on since they were aiding & abetting Osama Bin Laden?

I'm SO confused??

Where does a Patriot end and a Business Man begin? Does "monkey business" come into play here?

Quite the debonair and GLOBAL player, eh?

I know, I know…my tinfoil's a bit too tight. And, don't get me wrong: I LOVES my ATS family. Springer is hyper-intelligent and super-cool no doubt.

I also appreciate the intelligence and many of the accomplishments of Dr. Green and Dr. Alexander. I've been conflicted more than once in the course of this thread.

But is it possible that these Aviary cats could be sneaky enough to slip by our natural and skeptical ATS defenses for noble or ignoble purposes unknown? I dunno, but I do wonder.

Oh I bet I could talk Col Alexander into doing it, he's a pal of mine too and he loves educating people about the huge systems our government operates. Also, considering he is the one (only I've ever heard of at least) relatively high ranking govt. official (a Lt. Colonel) who actually got the funding to really dig through all the branches of the US Government in the pursuit of info on UFOs/Aliens, I'd have to agree he's a good one.

I'll call him this weekend.

And:

It is with GREAT PLEASURE and PRIDE that we announce the addition of Dr Christopher "Kit" Green to the AboveTopSecret.com Team.

Dr. Green is not only one of the most congenial, genuine and PLEASANT gentlemen I've ever spoken with he is without question one of the TOP Forensic Medicine, Radiology, and Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences and fMRI geniuses alive on this planet.

Wow!

Absolutely the greatest, wackiest, most roller coaster/bumper car thread I have ever encountered on ATS. Well done doesn't even begin to describe my thoughts/feelings after 5+ hours of reading every post and page in this thread. I'm just sorry that I discovered this so late, but there are benefits to reading all of the content rather than reacting to things as they evolve. And real truth is FAR stranger than fiction....

First off - Kudos. The level of intellect, the depth of the research and the writing skills of the participants here is the best I've ever seen - on ATS or anywhere else for that matter. In addition to piquing my intellectual curiosity and causing me to re-check my own facts/research, I found myself laughing...um...no...guffawing...at so many of the posts that I wished I could share a cocktail with many of the participants and just talk thru everything with many of you. Maybe we can do that one day...

As far as the meat of the subject goes - I think "we all know that we're all here" to coin a phrase, but I am hesitant to go there as no one else seems willing to do so except Schuyler in one of his posts.

Do we have the guts to go there?

What constitutes proof?

Jeez...I have become that which I abhor. Shoot me....

Heck yeah...lets go there! Can we get there from here? Can we get out I mean lol ?

I'm ready for round two, and I do have some more meat to add here, but I'm moving kind of slow on it so as to source it as well as such subjects can be sourced. Some EM stuff that might perk some ears up, especially.

Anything you can add will be MUCH appreciated. Until we can throw one back in person: Cheers!

I hope that you all won't mind a bit of self indulgence here. I crave a boon of a somewhat cathartic nature having lost, some ten days ago, a fellow psychonaut and dear friend at way too young an age, to the vagaries of life as a full on imbiber of the hop. Friends opened a Facebook page for him in memorial and some 100+ plus photos of his artwork and scenes from a collective life we led back in the 1980s.

One of those photos brought back a memory I've often thought is worthwhile of sharing and given the nature of this thread, I think this is appropriate if a tad veering off at a tangent. That said is does act a decent signpost and warning of the consequences when, even the most agile of intellects delve into the murky field of trying to shape people's opinions using a contemporary meme. Given there is a written testament sic to that which followed this anecdote then I think it does lay bare the problems a group such as the Aviary face when trying to adapt "clever ideas" to the public theatre at large. On purely personal level it also offers me the opportunity to share one of my favourite , off the cuff, brilliantly deeply philosophical one liners that my friend dropped into the conversation and how, the future head of the Church of England singularly failed to understand its' meaning leading to a proper public relations disaster.

The time was Saturday night Sunday morning around the time of sunrise at the Glastonbury festival 1986 he scene, the so called "green field" where all the "hardened festival types, freebooters and peace convoy types" were parked up. By 1986 the Glastonbury festival had become more a huge market and band promo than festival and yet, in a corner of it tucked behind the pyramid stage, lurked the remains and rump of the ethic that started the whole free festival scene in Britain. A single large field containing about 1000 souls and their various pantechnicons. part of the larger festival and yet, something different, a field, unlike the rest of the festival site, with no litter or general detritus covering the grass between the various vehicles. It's own "pub" that opened at midnight and its' own stage where bands just played when they fancied/could be bothered to.

Anyway, into this field around dawn that Sunday walk 3 people, somewhat anachronistic in their appearance even in such sartorially free-booting surroundings. In short, three members of the cloth replete with purple cassocks wandered in and took up station towards the centre of the field. The majority of the site, which by then was an estimated 130,000 souls in total, draped like the garish ripped garbs of 15th century Swiss mercenaries over the rolling hills around the site, were mostly in a deep chemically fuelled stupor and even in the Green Field there were, but half a dozen of us prematurely wizened troopers still out and about.

As we had just brewed a veritable vat of fresh tea we, as manners dictate, offered some to our "intruders". They took it and that was the signal for a discourse that went along these lines.

Cassocks... "Ummm, this field is different is it not? There is a different feel to it, something that the rest of the site doesn't have? It's as if, when one steps through the gate, there is some unseen barrier that acts as a bulwark against the more fraught energy of the rest of the site"?

The Great Unwashed , ie us:........."You think so? Well it could be said that those here are more used to the whole living "outdoors" and therefore, there is an innate order to things that others might find somewhat intimidating as there are no clear outward physical signs, save for the lack of litter and maybe, those less in tune with the practicalities of life on the road, feel an instinctive intimidation as their assumption is that and quite understandably given the publicity that surrounds the scene that. Festivals are just organised chaos where one just does what one does and it's full speed ahead, damn the torpedos, pass me another beer?"

There was a lively discussion with the cassocks about this all that led my recently departed friend to say to the obvious leader of the cassocks.... "Ahhhh see, that's the thing, there are no rules and yet, everyone abides by them".....

I suspect we lost the cassocks on a philosophical level at that point and it was soon after that, they thanked us profusely for the discourse and the tea and home made biscuits and made their way from the field. To be fair I suspect being of the cloth and it being Sunday morning they had work to attend to. Now that would have been that, just another incident to add to the pantheon of weird stuff that happens at festivals apart from the following. The head cassock was one George Carey the then Bishop of Bath and Wells who, some five years alter became the Archbishop of Canterbury and spiritual head of many protestants all over the globe. Carey was a "moderniser" who wanted to bring on board new ideas. new cultural memes etc to use them for the church. To that end he gave succour to and personally backed such ventures as the "Nine o'clock service" in Sheffield, which was in effect, a "Christian rave" using the whole panoply of psychedelic light shows and, to be fair, really rather stupidly crude messages such as "Jesus loves you" interspersed in the miasma of strobing lights. it went tits up big time, as is testified to, sic, here.

The Nine O'clock service"

There's the rub, that morning a bunch of 20 something scruffy oiks freely gave the future Archbishop of Canterbury the formula and he ignored it as he obviously "knew better than us" and "knew" he could control it and it was, simply a matter of mixing certain freely available ingredients and fostering them under the banner of "organised faith". Only he didn't actually hear what my now departed friend Brian actually said.... "There are no rules and yet, everyone abides by them".

When I read about The Aviary and their ilk that phrase always comes back to me. "There are no rules and yet, everyone abides by them" and I wonder if they ever even considered that concept? If there ever was one sentence that so perfectly and concisely précises the whole UFO phenomenon it that. "There are no rules and yet, everyone abides by them?"

My apologies if this post seems obtuse, irrelevant, etc however, it has been rather touching to share my deceased friend's deep insight into how mechanisms sometimes work and I feel it does add to the understanding of how, why and where the likes of the Aviary are coming from and the essential "problem", with trying to control ego and free will. That is, the moment you think you "know" and then attempt to guide others by any means of coercion, however subtle it might be, you are doomed to failure and you end up with a small sect, cult, style organisation where, the leaders egos are always more important than any message. In other words, the very organisational methodology of the Aviary meant it was always, in the long term, doomed to fail, as it was set up as "goal orientated" rather than, simply open to whatever might happen.

Tomorrow is the Col. John B. Alexander AMA thread.

I'm hoping that some of our more saavy members will prepare tough questions related to so-called "non-lethal" technologies and his prior statements about psychotronics as well as his shenanigans with NIDS, Bigelow Aerospace, Skinwalker Ranch, the hi-jacking of MUFON, etc. rather than UFO questions he can't answer any better than anyone else. Hint-hint.

His connections to Homeland Security, and what that might portend for us in the future (what do they know that we don't?) is another fruitful area of questioning I imagine. Fruitful in a read-between-the-lines and observation of where sidestepping occurs that is.

While some of Col. John B. Alexander's answers to other folk's questions on his AMA thread were personally interesting to me, I found the thread--not surprisingly--somewhere on the dark side of the illumination continuum.

The issues that both 727Sky and I were addressing pertain to Col. John B. Alexander's support and logistical papers concerning his positive perception of, and strategic-planning, as regards the blending of Military force/tactics/training/weaponry and State Police units in anticipation of who knows what. We don't know "what" because he hasn't told us.

First a little satire:

Q: What about a JFK conspiracy, Colonel?

A: Bollocks!! Conspiracy nuts!!

Q: Can you be more clear about those amazing Shamanistic experiences you referenced in your introduction?

A: Some small, round stones on the ground, erm, and a coin we found in our tent. MAGIC!!

So was the bullet, John, so was the bullet. Or so we've been told.

Okay, now for the entire exchange starting with a great question by 727Sky and my attempts at follow up.

727Sky gets the ball rolling:

John your thoughts on the militarization of the police forces and ad hock organizations tasked for crowd control inside the U.S. borders. Is this a normal evolution of cause and effect or have the inside circles of power that you might be aware of deemed it is essential for the survival of the republic or their own power structures? There have been many articles about all the alphabet agencies being armed and around here one report of the government buying over 1.7 billion rounds of hollow point ammo got many people's attention.. Comment if you care to or have an opinion?

Like you I have the benefit of a long hindsight which to my memory never included a Swat team plus backup for something that before was taken care of by a Mayberry Sherriff…?

Col. Alexander's response:

On my web site you'll find an entire monograph on this topic. I'll be writing more about it shortly - probably in my HP blog.

After encouraging him to answer 727Sky's questions, my response:

My question is, if you refer to the paper you co-authored with your son: Why, when I tried to access that paper from your website last year, while compiling the thread linked below, did I get a pop-up that basically stated something along the lines of "By accessing this file you give the DOD permission to permanently access and scan your hard-drive…" ??

The pop up froze my computer. Thusly, I'm hesitant to go to your site and attempt a download again…

Col. Alexander's reply:

I have not had that problem. There are both the monograph I wrote and a shorter piece co-authored with Mark. The monograph can also be accessed through the Joint Special Operations University web site and is available to the public.

After following his advice and going to the Joint Special Operations University web site to access that paper once and for all, my response:

When trying to access that document as per your reply at the Joint Special Operations University, I ran into a similar--though not exact--persistent pop-up screen that once again wants access to my computer. I've attached pics below. Imo, that's not exactly "public access" if I have to give consent to search.

I think the question that we want some kind of real response to regards the Constitutional questions raised by the blending of military tactics, training, and gear--both lethal and non-lethal--and state police forces. The whys and wherefores and just what kind of "forecasts" can justify the rhetoric.

Could you give us the title of both your monograph and that of the article co-authored with your son, Mark?

Thank You, Sir.

Screenshots:

Col. Alexander's reply:

send me a private email from my web site and I'll try to get you the info. Not sure why there is a problem

Col. Alexander did seem possibly--maybe--sincerely baffled as to why I'm experiencing those screens. If he is truly baffled, all I can say is that I picked up the attention on his website when I was doing continuing research on this thread and it follows me as I attempt to follow him and research his views.

Back on Point: Does it seem as if the major/points and questions asked of the Colonel might be a touchy subject? Neither Sky727's to the point questions nor my own about the blending of military and state police units and their relation to Constitutional issues received a response.

Note my comment from yesterday two posts above this one:

...His connections to Homeland Security, and what that might portend for us in the future (what do they know that we don't?) is another fruitful area of questioning I imagine. Fruitful in a read-between-the-lines and observation of where sidestepping occurs that is.

Were those questions sidestepped on the permanent and public AMA thread or is it just me?
