I'm not an entomologist but I do know that the frilled antennae are a defining characteristic of moths which this is one. I'm also not sure this even is worth a thread on ATS as there are many more elaborate wooly moths that have been known for ages. This particular one is rather dull. I collected and read way too many national geographics as a kid so My knowledge is legitimate. wanna see cool moths try these www.google.com...:en-US

Well, this proves the general age group and lack of maturity of this community. Pokemon, are you kidding me?

Its pretty cool!

your son is real smart, because for a minutes or two I actually believe it.

Cool looking moth. I see them all the time where I live here bordering a pine forest, among with tons of other insects. The antennae are characteristic of this kind of moth, but yours is more 'furry' than many of the ones around here =) Cool bug! You can try whatsthatbug.com and ask them to identify any insect you may find too

Darn right it would!

While it doesn't really resemble any of the current moth Pokemon (and there are several!) I guess it sorta looks like it could be a new Pokemon.

Looks like a cross between a 5th Gen Pokemon [Joltic(An electric spider type)] and a old pokemon Venemoth(Flying bug type).
Anyways awesome find.

(Edit: Added Some pics)
