A GAY couple are suing an airline after they claim staff removed a sex toy from their luggage and taped it onto a bag leaving it in full view of other passengers.

The pair had been on holiday in Costa Rica and when they arrived back to Norfolk, Virginia, their bag came down the carousel partially opened with the sex toy in full view strapped in clear plastic tape bearing the Continental Airlines logo.

Now they have filed a lawsuit against Continental for emotional distress, invasion of privacy and negligence. The lawsuit says that there is a high likelihood that the prank was done deliberately because the men, who have not been named, were gay. It states: “Because of the fact that the sex toy was contained in the bag of a male, and because the employee(s) responsible knew that the bag belonged to a male due to the name tag attached to the bag and the male clothing contained in the bag, there is a high likelihood that these egregious actions were directed towards [the] Plaintiffs because they are homosexual and because they are males.”

I can totally appreciate how embarrassing this whole episode must have been. What if this had happened to a straight couple as oppose to a gay couple? At the end of the day whoever has done this is clearly wrong, it is an invasion of privacy and no one should be embarrassed in this way. Regardless of the bag having a male name tag on it, it would be interesting to find out why the couple think whoever done this has done so because of their sexuality.

I suspect the sexuality of the victims won't even matter in the courtroom. I would bet that Continental settles this fairly quickly.

I am a staunch supporter of the LGBT community and the fight for their equality, but i dont think they can be so sure it was because they were gay. Its entirely possible for a husband/boyfriend to be carrying a sex toy that i can only assume is meant for a female, due to the claim that the toy being in the bag of a male would have led whomever to believe he was gay, for his girlfriend or wife.

Either way, its pretty messed up and a serious invasion of privacy.

The sexuality of the couple involved in this deplorable prank is completely irrelevant and serves only to sensationalize what happened. I expect more out of published authors than this kind of superficial rookie trash, but then again, it is The Sun.

The article uses the word likelihood.

The lawsuit says that there is a high likelihood that the prank was done deliberately because the men, who have not been named, were gay.

they weren't denying it was there do not bash sexuality either.

Maybe they who can't read are the nasty ones.

Also being gay lesbian don't matter in this case how would the joker know that they was gay.

Their being gay really had nothing to do with it. How would the people searching the bags back in security (not in front of the passengers) know that they were gay?
