Two Baby Boomer celebrities have taken to Twitter to hope pro-life, pro-family individuals and U.S. Congressman Todd Akin suffer a drowning or a same-sex rape, respectively.

On Sunday, Ellen Barkin expressed her hope that Tropical Storm Isaac would smash up the Republican National Convention in Tampa and drown all its delegates.

Yes,,,,,, Let's Drown every one that has a Different Opinion than yourself!

She retweeted the message of one of her followers that read: “C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC ” Barkin did not express any disagreement in her retweet.

I'm a liberal and I find her comment deplorable and despicable. If I could, I would give her a piece of my mind about how I think her comments just lower herself to the level of the likes of Jerry Fallwell who blamed pro-choicers and the LGBT community for Katrina and 9/11. To wish for ANYONE's death is unbecoming of any human being no matter how much you disagree with their politics/beliefs.

However, to attribute this women's comments to an entire group of people is in error. I would think ATSers would have learned that by now. I also think it is in error for the Democrats to work so hard to attribute Akin's asinine, backwards, factually incorrect comments to all conservatives and will only serve to hurt them in the end.

Well she is wrong for saying that, but then again it is kind of expected that a washed up actress that hasn't had a job in years would say anything just to have that spotlight back. Personally I do find it funny that the God squad has had their convention delayed, but I really do not want to see anyone hurt. If you can't win on policy, then your policy is flawed it is that simple. No amount of hurt people or dead bodies can change that.

The poster didn't downplay anything. He/she was pointing out the OP's error in trying to attribute this woman's statements to an entire group of people and pointed out his/her belief that it is extremely partisan to do so. But this is the Political Madness forum so whatever, I guess.

Did you not see my condemnation of the Democrats for doing that? I have no room to try to explain the actions of those you seem to have a serious problem with. Ask them. As for me, I already said that they are wrong for doing so just like the OP is wrong for trying to attribute some actress very wrong and deplorable comments to all liberals as if she speaks for them.
