A man owned a farm in Saskatchewan. and was being investigated by The Saskatchewan Dept. of Labour, which claimed that he wasn't paying proper wages
to his help. They sent an agent out to the farm to look into the matter.
"I need a run-down of your employees and how much you pay them," demanded the agent.
"Well," replied the farmer, "there's ol' Bob, he's been with me for many years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board. He doesn't do
much any more, but he needs a home so we just keep him around. This is his home now.
"The cook has been here for 18 months; I pay her $150 per week plus free room and board. She's a native and needs work to support her family.
"Then there's the half-wit who works 18 hours a day and ends up doing 90% of everything that gets done around here. He makes about $10 a week and
pays his own room and board. I buy him a bottle of whiskey every other Saturday and, on occasion, he gets to sleep with my wife."
"Aha!!! That's the man I want to talk to," says the agent.
"That would be me," replies the farmer.
