Iv'e been to many threads where i have been a witness to the resentment and hatred from both sides.
Where i see an opportunity to work on a solution, instead members resort to mud slinging, and childish finger pointing.
My hope is to create an opportunity to focus on a real solution..or at least a start.
So gentlemen..ladies,try to put your minds together, leave your emotions at the door, lets be constructive and try to work together, and do our part for generations to come, lets try to leave this place a little better than we found it,no one wants endless bloodshed, use your intelligence for a CHANGE

I am an outsider and neutral on this issue.
If we can objectively look at the big picture there is one element that stands out above all, and that is that there has been no peace in this region for a very long time.
The reasons and causes are irrelevant. There is no peace now and there will be no peace any time soon without a new approach for a viable solution. And from my perspective a Two State solution is the only viable solution. I would be very interested in hearing alternative realistic solutions..your thoughts..

Until the extremists on both sides are gone - read as not any time soon - then there will be no peace there. Secular minds want peace. Religious zealots with 'god' on their side, want nothing but total control.

It's a lost cause if you ask me, and will only continue to be a tit for tat exchange of death.

It's based on a history of 3500 years. There is no solution based on man made ideals.

Relations will never improve

Israeli's say Palestinian's are infidels and Palestinian's say Israeli's are infidels

When will they learn

Only one thing can stop it, their God. It's hard to see how they both believe in the same one and yet want to kill each other, but it is what it is. The hand of their God is needed, nothing less will do.

stripping those evil israelis of the land that clearly does not belong to them is a start.

If the Zionists would begin by recognising the Palestinians as human beings and treating them as such then the rocket attacks would soon cease.

Realistcly speaking... Some fundamental steps that could be taken is a removal of unwavering support from the US for Israel, and pressure placed on Israel by its greatest and only real ally the US, to implement the conditions of numerous past peace accords.

For instance, the US could stop providing aid, refuse to lend to Israel, reduce military cooperation and so forth, and its re-establishment of closer and more cooperative relations should be based on measures taken by Israel to achieve and lasting and durable peace. Hell, force Israel to the negotiating table.

Next the international community, the US (the most powerful state) and Israel in particular should cooperate with the Palestinians (in the West Bank atleast) on security issues (i.e. clamping down on extremism). Israel should actively cooperate with the Palestinian police to enforce security in the West Bank and ensure extremism is slowly destroyed.

More importantly there is a need for serious, substaintial and sustainable economic development in the Palestinian territories. Many argue that the only reason this conflict takes ethnic and religous undertones is because there are also haves and have nots. This has to be changed and the Palestinians (and the Israelis) have to be comftable enough to realise that war will only ruin their lives. Job creation is fundamental. If more Palestinians are busy working, they'll have less time to spend with extremists who pray on the vulnreable (we've all seen the stories of child suicide bombers)

Also it is important that a lasting solution to the Palestinian diaspora and the Palestinians in refugee camps, which are huge breeding grounds for terrorism and extremism, is found. This will require the cooperation of the Palestinian Authority, Israel, the US, the UN and the wider international community as well as the major regional players (i.e. Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria).

A foundation for a Palestinian state has to be layed out based on international law. Both sides will have to make comprimises on territorial issues. For instance the Israelis will require early defence outposts in the Palestinian territories and the 1967 borders must be negotiated to reflect the security needs of both sides. However, international law must be the foundation, thus Israel cannot annex massive blocks of land as it is attempting to do.

A left-leaning, dovish government is required in Israel, as historically right-wing governments (such as Likud) have taken Israel further away from peace. Also a left-leaning, dovish, peace-seeking, secular government is required in the Palestinian territories. Also regional players must change their attitude towards negotiating with Israel.

However, even realistically speaking, I doubt much of this will ever occur even though it is easier to do this than keep fighitng and killing eachother.

1 - Have the entire world get out of their business and realize neither side is innocent.
2 - Let the Israeli's and Palestinians duke it out once and for all.
3 - Whoever is left standing gets that freak'n spit of land that they are fighting over.
4 - The end.

And when I say that the entire world should get out of their business ... I mean it. No 'aid'. No arms exported to Israel or to the Palestinians. NOTHING. No involvement from anyone whatsoever. Total isolation will make them either work it out or have a final battle. They'll either 'make friends' or slaughter each other. Either way, the conflict will be done and the world can stop obsessing about it.

If the Palestinians would start treating the Israelis like human beings ... stop the daily rocket attacks and stop with the indoctrinating childrens programming that teaches that Jews are 'apes and pigs to be slaughtered' ... maybe people would start treating the palestinians more seriously.

It goes both ways ya' know ... neither side is innocent.

Give me a room, place those in charge in it, give me a 1911 and turn off the cameras.

This dispute is retarded. Everyone wants the same thing. For the issue to end. Both sides are complicit in spurring on the death and destruction. Stop blaming Israel, stop blaming Palestinians and have them sit down. Or make them.

Like it or not Israel is there. Like it or not Israel needs to share.

Unfortunately this isn't true. Left leaning governments, such as Labor which were in power for most of Israel's history started the settlement enterprise and expanded them even quicker than under some of the right-wing coalitions. There is no real peace camp, as a political force, in Israel.

One popular misconception about settlements is that they are solely the legacy of the Likud party. Indeed, it is true that during the 15 years (1977-1992) of Likud or Likud-shared governments a majority of the settlements in the West Bank and Gaza were established. However, Labor is primarily responsible for setting up the communities in the Golan Heights, in specific areas of the West Bank (including the Jordan Valley and Gush Etzion), and in the Sinai (which were dismantled as part of the Israel-Egypt 1979 peace treaty).

During Labor's tenure, from 1967-1977, the successive governments were responsible for the creation of 76 settlements, 24 of which were in the Golan Heights alone. With regard to the West Bank, during those years Labor primarily operated under the principles of the Allon Plan, a proposal drawn up shortly after the 1967 war by Yigal Allon under which Israel would retain that section of the West Bank which would allow it to maintain defensible borders. As a result, Labor created some 21 settlements along the Jordan Valley and Eastern slopes of Samaria during that period, and avoided construction on the mountain ridge from Nablus to Jerusalem to Hebron.

Both sides need to stop raising their children to hate the other side.

When you're born and raised in such hatred, of course it will never stop.

It's that or kill em all and let their god sort them out!

The solution is to tell these ignorant lazy-minded superstitious fools that their religion Judaism and Islam (and Christianity as well) that inspires them to HATE and KILL everyday is FICTIONAL man-made nonsense.

The fuel for their HATE and KILLING over there is RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. Its time to reveal to those MINDLESS WAR-ANIMALS that their beliefs are all FICTIONAL MAN-MADE NONSENSE!!

Iv'e always wondered why the one of the holiest places on earth was
the most violent and bloody. So i got to thinking maybe Israel should be a weapons free state,no military,none..the USA could still aid and look over them and also give equal aid to the Palestinian's,Palestinian's would disarm too and both could sign a non-violence treaty.
I think an olive branch needs to be offered and a big one at that for lasting peace..and some serious counseling, for both sides

Goldman Sachs is apparently paying both Obama and Romney to support a Palestinian state. However, before anyone gets excited, Obama will very likely just use the Palestinians to give parts of Israel to the Islamic caliphate. The Vatican is also just using the Palestinians to gain control of Jerusalem so that it can play out its one world religion from Jerusalem. Although a Palestinian state may be created, it will only serve the purposes of the Vatican and the Vatican's bankers, Goldman Sachs/Rothchilds. It's likely that Goldman Sachs may use Obama to give parts of Israel to the Islamic caliphate in an effort to deceive Muslims into believing that Obama is the Mahdi. If or when Obama is presented as the Mahdi then Goldman Sachs will likely use Obama to annihilate Islam.

The Palestinians would say: get out Palestine, or we will make you get out

The Israelis would say: We have a right to be here (being historical Judea). Stop inciting Jew hatred in your media and perhaps we can come to a peaceful terms?

The Palestinians will never stop inflaming hatred of Jews, and the Israeli's will never leave.

There you have it. Peace is impossible outside the Palestinians reforming their society - to cease their propagandizing and programming of their general public to hate Jews, Judaism, and to see their war against Israel as having religious significance; when they stop doing this, and alas, I just cannot see them being moved by compassion, confrontation can be avoided and a solution worked out.

And yet the greatest cases of mass murder have been perpetrated by atheistic regimes: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot...

The problem is man - not mans institutions.
