High strangeness on bbc subtitles

This is most likely nothing....but if anything does happen you heard it here first. Or....whoever the little person is who writes the bbc subtitles just made a prediction or smoked a fat one!

I was having breakfast , in a hotel, and the Bbc news was playing away in the breakfast room, volume low, with subtitles. The news reader, was discussing Lance Armstrongs drug test failure from the tour de France. However, the subtitles where saying the he had died and had been killed.

Th next sentence was "hello mum" written on the subtitle service, which was nothing to do with the actual news itself. Although I think it a automated system, it was interesting to see..hello mum....like we all would not have written that if let lose on the BBC subtitles.

And, the news went further explaining away the double dip and so on...but whilst doing that the subtitles were about a bomb and people being killed. Again, nothing to do with what they were actually speaking about. And no bomb was even mentioned on the news...as these subtitle services sometimes lagg behind the content that is being displayed.

So, if Lance is killed in a bomb attack....the prophecy came from HAL who is currently employed as the subtitle clerk at BBC .

The reason for me mentioning this, is its not the first time that subtitles and news readers have come out with utter nonsense. I have seen BBC news readers at times, speak in a strange language....which I had recorded and played to friends to check I was not insane .....machurian candidate anyone?

And have seen subtitles often refer to events before they happen , or also come out with random sentences. I know that these systems are automated...but there are errors and then there are "errors".

The best was , was at 10am in the morning , with my 11 year old nephew, when we were watching one of those police camera action things. The police where arresting someone...who was calling them a c u n t....which was obviously bleeped out during the broadcast. However, the subtitles just kept spelling the the word C u N t over and over again in time to the guys on TV. I would have found that hilarious ....if I was not looking after my very impressionable nephew.

Mate...it was one of those times I wish I had a phone with me...if at hoe and I see it again...I will use the rewind function....bit tricky in hotel though. As I said , it's 99 percent nothing...but interesting errors none the less.

Probably its some sort of automated voice to text service and they're as much use as asking me to translate from english to any other language especially if they get confused so they used the wrong understanding of the previous word to translate the next word

How odd.

I think they actually hire people to type the live feed, because its always riddled with typos...

I know what you mean about the reporters, I made a post of a few not so long ago, Oh crap yea, my thread on microwave, electromagnetic radiation got trashed without due cause.. I'll have to find them again, It had a VERY interesting a revealing government doc from 1998 attached.

It admitted they can use the microwaves for voice communication without being able to be eaves dropped on, the originate in the mind, and the mind alone. Also bunch of other disturbing stuff, ill find it and link it here for you.

Read this : BIOEFFECTS OF SELECTED NON-LETHAL WEAPONS

This news reporter later went on to state she got a sudden pain and pressure in her head, and as much as she tried, she just couldn't speak the words she wanted to!

Similar stories with a number of reporters!

Interest stuff. I'm actuall married to hypnotherapist, and I'm psychology student although my 9 to 5 is as a sales manager for a display firm. I've looked at hypnosis, leading questions and so on..and how language has a massive impact on human behaviour ...that's why I'm interested in these gaffs,

I may post about the leading and loaded statement phenomenon later...it will make the most sceptical person mindful of what they hear. ...and say for that matter.

Ok I did not know that...one subtitle actually said...hello mum! Which I thought was a little suspect as far as an error was concerned. However, I have still witnessed what I can only describe as actual mind control on BBC and ITV news.

Sorry just saw your video...that's funny...I'd been there though. Camera in face..words there...but just not coming forward. I have actually heard languages or sentences that make no sense what so ever....damn...I need to record these....if nothing else they are funny,

i have seen many chortle-worthy gaffes on the BBC breakfast subtitles - it appears that they have an automatic prog that does this that is then hastily corrected a line or two later by humans - i've never seen a "hello mum" though, that's awesome!

blonde bird had stroke apparently ? i thought the s t's were done by hand ??? they get laggy especially on live tv and even basic grammar mistakes as weight and wait , also read in an st , porn , whilst watching last uk boxing match in olympics ??? either the people cant spell and keep up with whats being said or a machine that recognises full english in noisy and frantic situations and tries to compute and write what 'it' thinks it 'hears' ???
