From C-SPAN 2 on Halliburton today at 3:56pm
"Sec 483 the bush has not comlied with...There was no monitoring of the Iraqi funds once they got into the US hands. they didn't keep much control
over the funds they are accounted for 8.8 billion dollars. was is spent properly or even spent at all???
Where did the money go? Not one hearing has been held about this topic.
How can we expect the rest of the world to follow our lead when we're being hypocrits??
Two organizations have found the bush admin has imporperly failed to account for the inadaquate record keeping in oil proceeds, there was only one
contractor maintaining oil records... That's one person...
And there was no contract reviewing and no monitoring systems... There was more but I couldn't type that fast.
Now a full congressional hearing may proceed, but the bush admin is blocking efforts... they are witholding documents from international auditors.
the admin about halliburtons reciepts auditors request: controller of the un the admin refuses to provide docs and continues to do so today.
Bush could not explain why they failed to follow their own rules.
the admin failed to respond when asked questions. these actions. This is currently deteriorating our alliances and brewing hatred towards US in the
middle east. we need to proceed in a fair and transparent way. But the bush admin is doing the exact opposite currently.
what happened to the oil money when we took it over. was their fraud, a lack of transparency, and corruption? The bush admin is refusing to offer
feedback and help us understand if their is legitamacy or not.
The republicans may stop a congressional hearing to find out the answers and apparantly we're going to be kept in the dark about it.
source: CSPAN 2.
CPA contracting activity was not properly reporting the transparancy reporting in gfi funds, this is an idictments of the admins b/c contracts
weren't adaquently maintained, how are we in congress supposed to conduct our oversight responsibilites 67% had incomplete or missing
documentations. This is a horredous record. The inspector general concluded "we do not believe transparency can occur when current data is
unavailable. This is an embarrassment to our country, they failed to comply with section 483."
---Paraphrased (I can't type that fast) Tune into cspan 2 congress isn't happy about this administration.
