Did you get it right?

I was counting when a gorilla interrupted my count.

I got the number correct, and I saw the gorilla.

Buffering helped, lol.

I didn't see it and I counted 10passes, had to watch again because I didn't believe it the first time.....

this ismfunny that this showed up today. while on my way to work this morning I was thinking about this very video and how it could be employed as a defense exhibit in a seatbelt ticket hearing. the synchronous events in my life are eery.

I got it right and saw the gorilla. Does that make me special?

I got 15 right, but did NOT see the gorilla. Wow, that's interesting...

This must be used in commercials/movies/tv shows for subliminal programming. My subconscious saw the gorilla, right?

I somehow counted 16 lol. Saw the gorilla because one of the passes is caught right next to it but didn't notice it beat it's chest the first time.

I counted the exact number...I didn't notice the gorilla, but I did notice that it got awfully crowded at one point in time. I just thought everyone was stumbling around with the basketball and lost all coordination.

LOL.....that was wierd....I did not see the gorilla, did get the count right......I guess the my thought process was to block out everyone who wasn't wearing white....I couldn't believe it when I watched it again and how obvious the gorilla was....

The reason why you don't notice the gorilla is because it is the color black. You are told to only focus on the people wearing white shirts and ignore those wearing black shirts. If the gorilla was any other color, you would notice it, but since the gorilla is the specific color you are told to ignore, your mind ignores it while you are focusing on the count. Although your consciousness does recognize the gorilla is there, your mind finds the information to be useless to the activity and discards it.

Whether this actually means anything is up for debate, but that should tell you why the YouTube comments have been disabled.

I find it interesting because there is always the danger we just see what we want to see.

If we only ever look for the conspiracy, then if we literally miss the gorilla in the room, what other info are we discarding in other aspects of our lives?
