The finger-penis also seems to have a striated/rippled appearance, as one would expect on a sea-shell.

Actually there is nothing caught in the treads - literally! There are holes* in the treads through which you can see the ground below.

* The "holes" caused quite a stir in the Amateur Radio community because the folks at JPL designed the gaps in the tread to spell out "J", "P", and "L" in Morse Code! Kinda neat!

Here's a shot with more of the wheel in it.

Pretty large accumulation of pebbles from the landing rocket blast in the bottom of the wheel. Seems the skycrane was probably a really good idea.

Oh, okay. Well when you're looking at the pictures taken on the nasa website:
mars.jpl.nasa.gov...
notice the time when pictures were taken. Photos were taken around ~30 seconds apart and they're displayed on the website in a descending order.

From around 2012-08-09 05:45:49 UTC camera is panning down, hard.
To my understanding all the images following that time were not intended to be a part of the panorama because of the perspective. They probably wanted to check if the wheels and that other equipment is looking alright.

Thats pretty clear to me when im looking at your gigapan panorama. You had to force the perspective (reason for the pointy corners on the bottom). Using them in the panorama is just not practical (actually if you want to have a correct perspective its impossible). Btw nasas version is horizonatlly cropped to look better.

The rock that seems to be engraved is highlighted in this image. I think the rock says A11/A77. Please zoom in.

As I look carefully at this rock..I see a figure that looks like an Egyptian type of painting..like we see in the pyramids..you can see both arms the chest the head and the hair..perhaps someone here has some type of photo program and can enhance it in some way..Cheers Coco

also to the right of the painted rock is a stone that looks very much like a human face..almost like Zeus..

Even if the rock did show signs of water erosion, why would NASA be covering up water erosion in Gale Crater?

They sent Curiosrity to Gale Crater in the first place because NASA thinks Gale Crater was once a very wet place. NASA says they think it may have been a lake at one time. They also say the highlands around Gale Cater show signs of once being areas of water runoff, and they exhope to find sediment from that runoff in the crater

...so why would they care if we saw a water-eroded rock. They already told us there might be such rocks there.

Ok im not crazy but there is a stone with a face under the rover tracks and there is no way that that stone was not carved look very close there are eyes ears and a mouth !!!!!!!!!!! with a dot in the center between the eyes Im seriously like shaking right now LOOK UNDER THE ROVER TRACKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
