My thoughts and condolences go out to friends and family of this very brave police officer. I sincerely hope that the US looks at its gun laws because unless something changes more people will be murdered and more families will be left without a parent, a father, a brother, a sister, etc. The recent shootings are not part of any conspiracy. The fact is gun laws have to change - no question. When people start bad-mouthing police officers take a moment to reflect on incidents like this..

I was evicted once.
I found a note on my door that said i have 3 daze to leave.
I suppose my he had received his and decided to make a stand.
Perhaps it would have been better to offer him an alternative to being homeless rather than resorting to force.
With that said i am truly saddened by the loss of life and i know we can do better.

We spoke at length about the nastiness we see online (and yes, sadly, even on ATS), and how even the air seems to crackle with snarkiness, sarcasm, cynicism, and vitriol.
Have we, as a species, passed a point of no return in that we can expect violence like this, the Aurora shootings, and the Sikh massacre on a regular basis?

Seriously.... what the hell is going on???

I ask the same question every day. A family friend of ours, who has no history of mental illness, is one of the nicest, compassionate people you could ever meet, began to change in a matter of two weeks time. He became extremely angry, blowing up and losing his temper with his family. He was not doing drugs or drinking, he was never into those things.

The other day he went missing for three days. They found him in his car dead. He blew his brains out. Left a note saying that he loved his family but didn't want to hurt them, and that lately he felt as if he was going to hurt them, so he took his life first.

This a man we've known for almost 26 years, and it was a complete shock to everyone.

Yeah, I don't know what is going on.

Don't despair my friend. Those are not natural and IMO clear govt sponsored events, especially the Aurora shooting, clearly a staged event perpetrated by our govt. I'd be careful believing anything surrounding these shootings and question how the media depicts these events. Question everything in fact,.

it's not runaway violence. It's media focus.

The mind of the primitive does what it sees on tv to look cool.

What if it turns out this guy was just a poor sick dude who was being evicted because he got so ill he couldnt work to pay the rent......landlords dont give a flying frack if yer dying ......
The constable was servong the notice and the poor dude thought they were taking him away right then.....
With nothing to lose you have no idea what people are capable of...
this could just be a system fail......and
a more common one lately too.......wheres the heart in people?are they all so callous?
Or not....?
Have some restraint acts come out at least...then lynch the poor dude...

Jesus Christ, ANOTHER one?

The US government is obviously staging these as an excuse to strip people of their guns.

I think you are right on the mark and I think it unfortunaly is gonna get worse before it gets better again.

I've worked as a property manager for several years and have had to be present for many evictions. Each time you do it, you have to be aware that the resident could end up being violent and be prepared for it. I've always had a sheriff present as well and can say that they don't enjoy it either. People get very emotional, understandably, when it comes to their homes.

Seems to be happening on a weekly basis now.... you guys are messed up!

Check these photos out to see how messed up:

www.thesun.co.uk...

"Here at the Tanner Gun Show — one of the world’s biggest — in state capital Denver you can assemble an astonishing arsenal with less scrutiny than it would take to adopt a dog in the UK."

LOL utter nonsense. I've been to the Tanner gun show on many occasions. If you purchase a weapon you must go through a background check the same as if you purchased one at a gun / sporting goods store.
I can assure you I am not " Messed up " However YOU and the author covering the tanner show appear to have a huge problem ! If you don't care to accept the enormous responsibility associated with gun ownership. YOU and HER should not own one. Apparently in her mind she has the moral right to place the welfare of her and her loved ones in the hands of others ( police and armed Citizens ) who are willing to risk life and limb to protect her sorry arse. Unacceptable behavior for one who claims concern for his fellow man.

ATTENTION!!!!!!

This thread is not about gun-control.
That is for another thread.

Please discuss only the Texas A&M incident.
Off topic posts will continue to be removed.

What's to discuss other then the not so hidden agenda of GUN CONTROL !
Were these people killed by Alien death rays? A fire ? The Black plague?
Should every post simply offer condolences for the death of strangers.
Remove half the posts ole wise one. Surely if you do not see a connection
between these incidents an control of guns you are most certainly missing something.

Poor guy did not want to get kicked out of his house. Very sad that he had to resort to this. It just backs up my feeling on such things. The community left him high and try big time. I am sure his neighbors knew his was getting kicked out of his house and, from the looks of it, no one offered him any help. He must have felt trapped with few options left but to defend his home in the most extreme way he knew. This could have been avoided easily. If the community had decided to not let this man get kicked out on the streets I am sure something could have been done to save his home. In a strong community people do not just get kicked out on the streets because they fall on hard times and have trouble making their house payments.

I mean, some kind of community event could have been organized to raise some money to help him. Everyone loves a block party. Why not get a block party going and offer food and others games at a price. A few thousands dollars can be raised easily from such events. People really need to make their communities stronger in America. You must learn to depend on your neighbors and fellow comrades because the US government, the police and any one in position of authority don`t care anymore. If the community is strong, you can help each other while at the same time fight the powers that be.

Sad day indeed.

Flags across the country will be at half staff all year. Random killings what seem like a monthly occurance, and a pending war will make sure this becomes a reality.

What is going on with the human race?
