Is it possible to set up a poll or a vote so that each registered user can vote 1 time. It would be interesting to see what the average ATS viewer thinks. IMO

If possible make sure that multiple users from the same IP address can only post once. In case some people have multiple names.

If this"vote" is not possible a brief explanation would be much appreciated.

Yea this would be an interesting feature...although I could tell you the results right now, it would be Kerry without a doubt.

Such a poll would have no relevance to the world at all.

When it was possible to construct polls on these Forums, some were done well and some were done poorly.

What use is a measure of two-party voting intention at a website like ATS to anyone?

This brings in an interesting issue though - we posters who are not American have been told that the election is an American issue. So should foreign posters be allowed to vote in such a poll?

Probably some international observers are better informed about American policy and its effects than some of their American counterparts.

What would a poll of ATS members show?

I think the poll would be interesting just to see political viewpoints of the majority at ATS, which I'm guessing is mostly more liberal...maybe there could just be a simple poll asking your political party affiliation. But if you've been around here long enough you can figure it out by reading posts.

Quite simply, it would show who the ATS membership would like to see as president....whether US or not.
I agree it'd be interesting....It should show ALL candidates though (i.e. Nader and Badnarik as well).

Yes, while it is an American issue, I always like to see what the world thinks. It may not impact me but I still am curious. I know that it will be overwhelmingly Kerry, but I still think everyone on ATS should have a say. It is an international board.

I dunno...I've been seeing alot of Bush-huggers around lately...
(AHEM! Sorry FredT)

I think ATS is predominantly liberal, but I'd be interested in seeing the turn out...

The MEMBERS are prodominantly liberal, the Administrators and the ones who actually run the boards and site seem to be Neutralists, slap right in the middle.

Perhaps we should do the same of the whole world...see what everyone thinks of the presidents and dictators around the world and see what ATS think about it....

If there is going to be such a decision on behalf of members of ATS as to who should be president in the US...why leave out every other country? or is the US the ruler of the world despite what international members keep saying?

Lets find out what president, prime minister, dictator, etc we all think should be in all the countries in the world?.....

Why is it that these questions are not asked? why is it that the whole world just want to impose their own opinions on the US but the same is not done to the rest of the world?......... and if we even try...the bashing and blaming on the US starts....

Reason #1

The US hosts just under 4% of homo sapiens on the planet but produces over 30% of the world's pollution (starting with non-miltary aggression/expansionism reasons).

The nation is indeed under a global microscope, with the bacteria called the Bush administration as the primary exhibit.

I like this idea. we should do a series of rate world leaders. It would be a bit of fun, then you coud have a post were you debate about this particular leader, maybe something for BTS though.

PLLLLEEEAAASSSEEE mods. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

I would help in anyway I could!

I bet the "average" ATS member could name more world leaders than George W Bush could on his inauguration.

So...are you saying under Clinton's administration the above was not true?.....and if you want to talk about going without UN consent to a war then please explain why did Clinton go to Bosnia, without one ally as back up.....

BTW, do show facts that under Clinton what you say above was not true...

oh i see...so you have no interest on what democratic presidents have been doing in the past and the effect it had on the US and the world? and the similar stance Kerry has on these issues?....

Uh, is Clinton running for president? Last I checked it was Kerry, Bush, Badnarik, Cobb, and Nader. No, no Clinton under there. Sorry, we should attack Clinton because??? I don't see him running the country into the ground. After all, best economy, ever, and largest surplus, ever. Sure not much into the military, only ordered 6 new ships, about 20 new planes, and no new tanks.... but no Cold War. Kerry is running for president, so go after him, Clinton is not.
