I'll go out on a limb, perhaps tread on a few toes and point your attention to something that Wikileaks exposed very recently after reading the
Strafor emails. At the time of posting, Wikileaks is on the receiving end of a huge DDoS.
Many of us knew real-time CCTV analysis and facial recognition was in the works, but it came down the pipe much faster than I anticipated.
TrapWire is a system that reportedly collects data from dodgy-looking cameras and feeds it to some data centre that automates the facial recognition,
predictive analytics, etc. Probably not a big deal in itself, but you'll notice these very distinctive cameras were being deployed over the last 18
months and now they're
everywhere. They've also been deployed on the public transport system here in the UK (both train and bus), and I've also
spotted a few at my place of work.
