Uprising = Trap???

I don't know if this belongs in Video Games, or General Conspiracies, or wherever else it might belong. Mods, please feel free to move this thread.

Anywho...

Last night, I saw the trailer for the upcoming Assassin's Creed III video game. It really got the gears in my mind to start turning. If you haven't seen it, it might be worth watching to understand what I want to ask you.



AC3 will take place during the American Revolution, and I believe the game and the trailer were thought up and put together in a way to encourage people to really think about uprising. I've noticed this trend, this zeigeist, whatever the proper term is, in many different places in the media - songs, movies, games, shows, etc. Revolution and "waking up" certainly seem to be on many, if not most, people's minds nowadays. I also highly doubt that this trend has gone unnoticed by the PTB.

That being said, here's my question: has anyone else thought, even if only for a second, that the PTB are trying to get us to revolt so that they can squash us into submission via martial law, the provisions of the NDAA, FEMA camps, etc.? I realize that insurrection is pretty much our only hope for getting out of this mess, and I look forward to the day that humanity unites as one to defeat the forces of darkness (I know that sounds mad corny). But once this notion got into my head, I couldn't help but worry and wonder if it's gotten into *THEIR* heads as well.

Please don't get me wrong - I DON'T want to let it just happen, I DON'T want to give that scum the satisfaction, I DON'T want to go quietly into the night. I don't ever plan on rolling over and submitting to them. I don't think anyone on ATS ever plans on that. But if they are thinking a few steps ahead like this, what do WE need to do to think at least 1 step further ahead of that?

Maybe. However, if we do nothing, they will still kill us all as they always have been. Martial law WILL happen whether we like it or not I am afraid.

I do think that is their plan!

I think that is what they tried to make happen when they highjacked TTP and Occupy movements; they hoped to turn them into violent uprising so they could declare martial law and use the powers they granted themselves in the Patriot Act and NDAA. Of course they would claim it was to protect us.

By the way, check out this thread I posted about the game Black Ops 2. This is a similar situation of using games to plant seeds.

This is becoming a more commonly accepted theory.

A caller to Alex Jones recently asked him why he didn't go ahead and call the people to arms to fight the government. Alex basically replied that this wouldn't be an effective way to accomplish our goal, and that the war must be fought with our minds and with information.

"They" do want an uprising.
"They" would enact martial law and would be able to kill off most of the patriots as well as the collateral damage of the useless eaters and retired folk.
This would clear the retirement / ssi crowd and free up those resources, it would also clear up much of the unemployed and welfare crowd, freeing up much of those resources as well.
The new government would re draft a new constitution and take all of the important rights out.
Before you know it, the US would be running like one of those countries that have a queen.
This is why we must opt out of their system and live for ourselves and not them.
I have noticed alot of "revolutionary" type themes everywhere.

Yea, we have been here before - at the end of the Civil War - a organization called the KKK established a code of annonomus justice - and most of what you understand about the KKK is from propoganda and really a successful propoganda which turned racist to keep it going - but after the civil war Carpet Baggers were protected under law. and the KKK was born to make sure they didn't profit from their deeds. and once they got back the justice system they wanted to continue to have a mission and they turned racist - anti - jew and anti african... and that ended in the 1960's and the KKK started paying for their crimes.... I see a new form of the KKK arising - a multi racial KKK to maintain justice...

Computer games are more suited for producing a lethargic sit at home and do nothing kind of person and not a get up off the couch and go and attack the government kind of person.

Actually they target the out of shape crowd, I would much rather fight them than a fresh out of the corps unemployed person.
Different view is all.

Ignorance is not bliss. I believe that a paramount duty of any living human is to be aware of what may potentially be adversely affecting you, your family, your friends, humanity's progeny, animals, plants, planet's well-being. This means learning, seeking, listening, being open, but with legitimate discernment.

If this doesn't seem reasonable, I believe that whoever believes that the above notion is unreasonable, is devoid of greater mental clarity. Rest assured, it's not like you [the opaque] are hopeless, just stupid.

Here's how I see it.

Within the next 2 months, we will have a catatrophic power grid failure in the US. It'll coincide with one of the hurricanes we're expected to get.

The power will be off for weeks.

After the first week, looting, rioting will take place.

First the police, then the Nat'l Guard will come in.

When that fails, regular troops will be called in and Martial Law will be put into place.

With the collapse of the economy and manufacturing, the government will nationalise all production in the US.
The election will be postponed.

Most Americans will cheer, because the government will have "saved" them.

By January, America won't be recogniseable anymore.

Just my humble opinion.

Become a survivalist...Its good to be prepared regardless...Have a plan...Come and live here in Montana, It was a bit of a culture shock when I first moved here, But now at least I can say I have a plan, I am prepared now whether this will help who knows but at least it wont hurt and thats all any of us can do...

Me too, but most noticeably in the movies and video games of late.. it started in the early 2000's but really ramped up, and it's EVERYWHERE.

Theres a show called Continuum that has a theme centralized around Rebels in our society working to destroy the Orwellian Corporate Regime, of course the show just happens to be located in my hometown Vancouver.

You should have stated....I understand that this has to do w/ the message behind the video game but for those that sit all day and play them...you people should get out more.

I have a theory to float, this hasn't been addressed yet I don't believe. What if the .govs of the world are coopted and unable to warn us, as "they" ( the ones actually pulling the strings, be they aliens, interdimentional..etc.) have assumed control under pain of death, that the .govs must help them or they will just end the whole dog and pony show to accomplish their ends.

So TPTB maybe trying to influence us from behind the sceens to warn and prep us for the coming preplanned apocolypse. They are just powerless to stop it, and if they warn us the end will only be sooner and more butal.

I don't really believe this, but have been kicking it around with sveral other ideas for sometime now.

thats why revolutions need to be non violent,, informational,, intellectual,

i guess the other question i should have also asked is that IF there is any measure of credence to my theory, what would the best course of action be for people to get through it? learning to live off the grid and stockpiling some things would be a good first step, but one of the provisions of the NDAA is scooping up and detaining anyone who is deemed a "threat." so if they start rounding up participants and supporters of a would-have-been uprising, it seems like hitting the road with a carefully planned survival pack, keeping a low profile and using learned skills to live off the land would be the best bet, until further notice. but i could be very wrong - i am still in the research and development stage of survival planning, and have much to learn. and i don't want to do anything too drastic and spaz out when there is nothing to spaz out about yet. i'm just trying to think a few steps ahead.

thanks for totally ignoring my question for a chance to be rude! however - and i sincerely apologize if this disappoints you - i don't even OWN an xbox, much less play games on it all day. my bf showed me the trailer because he likes the Assassin's Creed games. we both get out plenty, but thanks for your concern!

Ah the old uprising theme a constat here at ATS it seems but never very well thought out.

Sure people could attempt to rise up, but for the most part any such effort is doomed to fail becasue of the lack of social cohesion. Would Democrats have the same ideals as Republicans? nope! Would gays be able to comproise with hardline Chrisitans and Muslims? Could the legalization crowd co-exist and work with the 2nd Ammendment people? Doubtful. What about supporters of the death penalty, true socialists, communists, vegans, hippies, yuppies, anarchists, isolationists, environmentalists, etc? No unfortunately most of these groups barely get along as it and yet people still somehow think a miraculous uprising will occur where all these disparate groups come together for a common goal?

All that aisde there is still the issue of capability and logistics which would doom an uprising. The revolters would lack an airforce, satellite recon abilities, electronic intelligence gathering, mechanized infantry, standardizezd weapons and training, access to specialized weapons like anti-armor rockets and so on. Sure a portion of the military might defect but the spin campaign to paint such an uprising as terrorists and traitors will ensure that a healthy portion remain loyal to the government and fight for them. Hell the lack of training would be detrimental to an uprising because the majority of American citizens work in soft-handed jobs in AC where they are comfortable and safe; how would those people fair on a 3-day operation where they sleep in the dirt with insects biting them and get shot at on a daily basis?

Lets put the two points already made aside and consider the after-effects of such an uprising if it were to be successful. So Washington has fallen and there is no real government save some some provisional group headed up most likely by the commanders who lead the rebels to victory in the first place. Can we be assured they wont decide to attempt to purge the survivors of anybody who would still swear allegiance to the former regime? What about outside factors like perhaps NATO and the UN deciding that a US in open revolt is having an undesireable effect on the rest of the world (economic crap-storm for those wondering)? In such a situation its quite likely that a fragmented US could in fact fail to repel an invasion against it after having already lost people and equipment to a second civil war, so what would be our defence if say China decided that they wanted a slice of our pie and rolled across the Pacific in waves to cut a slice off for themselves?

I know people dont like to hear these kinds of things but as the country currently stands there will be no revolt, no uprising and no dramatic change in the leadership in Washington. As the great melting pot we have become so splintered that its nearly impossible for us to stand up as a nation and push for any common goal, until that changes these notions of revolt are simply poorly conceived pipe-dreams and nothing more.

Anyone who think the TPTB are trying to cause an uprising by manipulating a story line to a popular video game to incite a group of people who play the computer all day so they have an valid excuse to stomp on us all probably needs to get out more. Because the people who buy these games are not the sort who are likley to get up and attack the government , so the idea is very far fetched and probably the result of an overactive imagination in an under stimulating environment ...was that easier for you to understand?

If possible yes!
Get totlly away from having to use their currency.
If that is not possible, do what you can to barter, shop for second hand rather than paying a big full price, learn to repair or build what you need to live, produce your own food, power, water, Etc.
Dump your bank!!
I can live without any of their system, they cannot live without ours.
Therein lies the problem, WE need to be a we first before we can enact some true change.
