Right off the bat, this God of the Bible has adversaries. In fact, one third of the population of heaven rebelled against this God. Why, we wonder. It was because of us. God loved us more than he loved those angels, and they got mad. What did he do? He gave the leader of this rebellion dominion over the earth, where he put Adam and Eve!

He created them. male and female, 2 fully developed humans. They never learned to stand or to fall down, never felt a mother's unconditional love or got a hug or a spanking. Then this God leaves them alone, while he goes off, who knows where, and leaves the devil to babysit.

Hey, a snake is a snake, everybody knows that. But God is surprised that Adam and Eve were seduced by the very guy who led one third of God's heavenly population into rebellion! So what does God do? He throws them out of the garden and curses the woman to sorrow in childbirth.

Then he continues to allow these rebellious "fallen angels" to rape the daughters of Eve, and bring forth monsters to torture the sons of Adam! Then he sends a flood and kills almost everyone.

Then fast forward to Moses, who got into trouble for killing an Egyptian soldier, and had to flee from Egypt. He sees a burning bush and hears a voice that tells him to do stuff, and he calls this voice God. He tells us that this God has rules for us to follow.

These rules are flawed from the get go! Of course the first rule is not to question God and we are ordered to obey, love and respect this God. Oh yeah, the law says not to kill too. I guess it was important to emphasize that since Moses was a murderer. And we are also told, in these ten commandments, that women are property, the same value as man's donkey, or ass, as the Bible says.

Then this supposedly loving God sends his son to be murdered by an angry mob, to cleanse our "sins" because he loves us so much! Only if we believe the story, are we saved from his own wrath. Then, we are promised the 2nd destruction of the world, by the return of a vengeful God, who is to separate the good people from the bad, who are doomed.

Yep, that's one "loving" God, huh? Thanks for allowing me to rant, guys!

The God of the OT isn't the one true God...

Jesus vs OT God

A simple yet obvious answer to an age old question...

Nope, he gave the Garden to us humans, with one instruction.

We responded with an F-U we got this type attitude...

We gave this world to the leader of that rebellion with that act.

Ever since God has been holding his hand out for us to get back in good with him, we keep slapping it away.

Well if you put it like that

ok but all jokes a side even though some things might seem flawed from your perspective doesn't mean it is...but out of all belief systems christianity or ancient astronaut theory are the most realistic/ logical...if you can't figure it out I can prove it if you want, but right now I'm too tired and just wanted to comment on here so I can find this thread again later..until then peace.

Um, I wasn't there, so leave me out of your blame scenario.

Adam and Eve didn't flip God off, they made a mistake, by being seduced. And for their mistake they got the death penalty. This God still holds a grudge against all of humanity for HIS mistake and his lack of attention to his own creation.

No grudge at all, again, at anytime every single human has an out.

That doesn't sound like much of a grudge...

But again, Hubris interferes with the acceptance of it.

How so? Do you mean suicide? What about hell? Or, do you mean the way out is accepting the story about Jesus. My critical thinking skills won't allow me to believe that story, so what is my way out?

So was it during World War 1, World War 2, Hiroshima, 9/11, slavery, terrorism, the black plague, the potato famine, the Great Depression, or Iwo Jima that God demonstrated this overwhelming compassion for us?

Either you're a fool, or those angels were. We're stuck down here, and they're wherever.

Nice try. Pick another fairytale.

Perhaps you missed my sarcasm in that comment. That's just the story I was taught, like sibling rivalry, they thought that God loved us more than them. Again, God wasn't a very good dad to the angels either.

So. my lack of belief in a story about a virgin birth and human sacrifice is hubris? Okey dokey!

Hubris has nothing to do with it. Is it hubris if someone tells you they can breathe fire and you say, "yeah right"?

I do not express hubris unless a deity expects my veneration just because. Until that point, I express skepticism because nothing - NOTHING - defies the laws of physics. There are certain trapdoors and loopholes and exceptions to the laws we have today, but that's because we're still learning. We make adjustments when we need to. Even Buddhist leaders have accepted that should science prove them wrong, they'll have to change somewhat.

And then there are Christians who turn around and say, "That fossil is fake! Science is the devil!"

At that point, I express hubris. Because NOTHING should ever deny my right to think for myself, and that's exactly what your faith suggests I do.

NOTHING - defies the laws of physics.

Really, whats the unified theory? we have one yet?

The very laws and reality of the universe as we know it have yet to even be completely understood.

Is the Holographic universe right? or is the standard model, certainly the Higgs Boson points in favor of standard model, but there are as many questions as answers.

So you rule out all Supernatural causes, what of extra dimensional?

Thinking we as humans have even begun to grasp the very nature of the world we inhabit enough to rule out much of anything...

Again, ill just go back to my original explanation

Hubris

AND IT ONLY GETS BETTER!!!
The old book later on was deemed old hat at some point and a new book was written and now old sins are ok now!!!
I guess god changes his mind, I'm sure god did not goof right??

I feel for the fools who fall for the lies put into a book, many have done great horrible things because of these "holy books".
The books are just a control mechanism used on those who cannot think for themselves.

Your question begs the assumption that we know everything about science. We don't.

Hmm...why am I reminded of a child saying, "So there!"

Oh, I know why: you have nothing better to say. Okay.

If a law is unjust a man is not only right to disobey it he is obligated to do so

Wonder what would happen if the country's best lawyers picked through the Bible's laws? I think 30 or 40 life sentences wouldn't be far off the mark... we tried to kill Hitler for ATTEMPTING genocide; what do we do to someone who's succeeded? Not to mention bioweaponry, threatening global security, and generating a terrorist capable of controlling the impulses of the average man...oh yes, we have treason on this one.

No sir, nobody throws my god under a bus.
I am you and you are me, we are god.
Just divided to experience something we cannot as one.
I could never throw us under a bus.

(Edit)
I'm no christian here and I turn no cheek, well unless I got gas.
