Okay, here's the deal.

The presidential elections are 22 days away, and one of my friends and I made a solemn oath to each other.

If President Bush wins the upcoming elections, we will make plans to pack our bags and move to Europe, to satisfy those who say "If you don't like it, then leave."

I have made this thread for two reasons:

1. I'd like to know a place in europe with low property values/costs of living, where I could possibly find work.

2. I'd like to see if other people have the same sentiment, in regards to the possibility of a Bush re-election.

Hmm I was thinking Canada.. but I do have alot of friends in Europe.

Never the less there are too many people I love and care about here to leave.

Unless of course they all came with me

Ah, that's just the thing...

I don't have anything really attatching me to America that I couldn't either Maintain or re-establish in Europe.

The more I look at the possibilities of this, the more I'm ready to do it.

You know, if you have the degree, you CAN go to other countries and teach "English Immersion" for awhile. China is begging for teachers and while the salary isn't sky-high, you do get some of your cost of living paid for by the state.

If we were a little older, I think I'd suggest that to the husband.

Rule out the UK then, house prices are still going up and so is the cost of living

Damn the Labour Government

Judging by what moving costs I can see, I'm thinking canada may be the better option. there's just no good way to hitchhike to Europe, you know?

Interesting side note...

If anyone is available, I'd like to have you help me find drapes for a possible studio apt. in paris..

Oh my, how cliche`.

This is starting to look grim.

It seems as if my expatriation is at hand, folks.

I'm already contacting people from outside the country that I know, asking about housing and jobs in their area.

Canada is where I'm headed now, not Europe. the costs of moving would be much more manageable.
