Curiosity Has Landed!!

Just 8 Megapixel? You would think if they send another rover to mars, they would put a cam on that bad boy that exclipses the one on my f*cking cellphone.

They should send every politician, including Ron Paul's son to MARS, they can ask Martians to vote for their lies, and leave us alone. That would have been a great twist of this mission, "ooh wait, there's more, we sent a cargo full of politicians, and here they are taking their first step to MARS and never allowed back to earth". Anyway, this is a tremendous achievement for NASA. I get goosebumps when I watch the video of all them celebrating. Really looking forward to the coming pictures, video, and science we are going to be learning from this rover.

Actually each mastcam has a 2 megapixel sensor. And each does eclipse your phonecam.

This provides the capability to obtain images with a scale of 7.4 centimeters per pixel at 1 km distance, and about 150 microns per pixel at 2 meters distance.

the other rover that landed along with Curiosity on the opposite side of Mars is the military version with 24mp and in color with Near Light Speed transmission..lol:

I just saw the stream on RT this morning and I didn't see any color whatsoever.. unless there's a different RT news that I don't know of .. or unless the 'cam' your talking about is NOT video ..

if you have read all the posts, you would know why there isnt any colored pictures yet. Is it really that hard to do some research nowadays? a few clicks here, some letters typed in here, and boom. Its not that hard.

The small b/w pictures you are seeing are from the rovers HazCam. They are just designed to help see where the rover is going and avoid any hazards. The good juicy color pics will come from the mastcams that he linked to you.
