missing the boat of full potential on ATS

I think I am truly missing the mark here on ATS by not having multi accounts and to go with it multi personalities.

some examples:
young people pretending to be older, even by a few years.
Those pretending to be Gay
Those pretending to be male
Those pretending to be Female
Those pretending to be female then male then made female again
Those pretending to be muslim
the list goes on.
Have these people not recognized that life its self is full of plenty of surprises that there is really no need to PRETEND.
I except thats its an addiction to do this so I offer this:
GET SOME HELP ,WOULD YA?
then come back and be a genuine person

Why would you want all the hardships associated with that!? I can't imagine giving birth!

You left out the bulk of it. Which is that demograph. Now do you want to tell me what your problem is and talk about it?

When I was new to the internet I once pretended to be a female in an internet lesbian chat room. I did it out of sheer curiosity to see what they were talking about, and maybe to learn a few things about women that might help my love life, but nothing more. After a couple of months I didn't learn anything and it was really boring talk about nothing at all and felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. I admitted I was a man and left. Got a PM saying that nobody held it personally against me because I always treated them with respect.

That was back about the early 1990s, when I was very new to the internet.

Well, that's my morbid story.

Still there's that old saying, you really can't understand a person until you've walked in their shoes.

The moral related to this thread?

There's all kinds of reasons that people do things to pretend, and one should never assume anything nor jump to knee-jerk conclusions.

Bit like NASA hides UFO's from us... Instead of thinking rationally, and considering they don't really have any evidence for it.. and oh it's better for funding to make purty piccies than shonky ones.. But who knows.

It's all a bit sad really.. the levels people will drop to think they are correct and everyone is against them.

But if not here, then somewhere, I suppose.

I always post as myself. I wish others would as well. If you actually knew me, you would see that.

But yes, the interwebs do provide a semblance of anonyminity. Not much you can do about that.

this is what I am talking about, exactly.

what throws sand in my jock is that 3 or more that you get to know are all the same person.

one is a conservative
one is liberal who is a man or is a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman.

I just have to wonder if I am missing out on the full ATS experience not having multi accounts and adding fiction to promote my own ego, ie: I could be somebody with this guy, somebody else as this woman, and someone else as a woman made a man made a woman, who either has always been a man or always been a woman.

the movie industry has made movies about this behavior latest is the one where a woman portrays her daughter and a middle aged man pretends to be young again, they are essentially punking each other, the kicker is the woman develops a relationship with the dudes younger co-worker..which gets the young man killed...

this sort of behavior runs rampant on these kind on Internet Social Websites
all I'm sayin really.
