I don't know why but i love the air intake on the roof. It just looks mean and awesome and probably shovels in MASSIVE amounts of air to the engine. Especially when you consider how all the air from the hood flows right up into that area....

One thing that looks way too impractical though is the rear spoiler underneath the back bumper. It looks like there's only a few inches of clearance between that and the ground. Good luck pulling into a driveway BUMP SCRAPE SNAP>>>> ****

Theres always the option to swap engines, but with say a Gallardo engine going into a Diablo you`d have to swap electronics, but even a factory Lambo from thee 80`s will still beat just about anything short of a Z06 today anyways it just wont do it very comfortably, but if you had one the aftermarket support has grown since then and one could improve the performance.

The Bugatti Veyrone Supersport is also no joke but the maintenance costs are ridiculous. I guess you're right the cheapest super car would be the GT-R by AMS...and it destroys them all.

Since that engine for the GTR never leaves the lab til its in the car i`d be curious to know the common problems for something with that high of precision. So they`re calling it the "Godzilla"? Figured it would get a faster sounding name but seeing the specs it would seem to be the king of cars currently.

You would practically need to swap every single thing so as to keep the performance level as high as possible. The problem is that the other two cars have much smaller frames.

The GT-R's go up to 1500+BHP

I'm SO not a car guy...but this one makes me feel all tingly down low. If I HAD to drive a luxury performance car in the apocalypse, this would be the one!

AMS had an r35 that went to somewhere near 1700bhp lol, its nuts. Can never understand people who prefer to drive what constitutes nothing more than a piece of art to drive around at 20mph as apposed to a properly tuned work of engineering.

Image I guess, if that Zonda cost 12,000 no one would probably buy it, weird.

"adapted for road use" means adding the legal plates and probably tuning the engine down a little to make the car fall into the legal limits of what allowed on the road. Not sure about the road laws in that country. No doubt he could afford to replace the suspension but my point is why would you want to be in the situation in the first place.

I`d take an old school Chevy or Mopar with a big block for a fraction of the cost and have twice as much fun.

Maybe you think that but you are kidding yourself. That Chevy will not give you the squirmy feeling the Zonda would. You're only saying this because you know you will never get to drive a hypercar. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

1,500 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque.
Taking the purchase cost, spare parts, maintenance etc etc for a Pagani in consideration, I would choose the 12GTR any and every day.

60-130mph Comparison:

AMS Alpha 12 GT-R – 3.31 Seconds!
Bugatti Veyron – 5.6 Seconds
Suzuki GSXR1000 Motorcycle – 5.9 seconds
Ferrari Enzo – 7.3 Seconds
Mercedes McLaren SLR – 7.24 Seconds
Porsche Carrera GT – 7.3 Seconds
Lamborghini LP640 – 7.8 Seconds
Chevrolet C6 Z06 Corvette – 7.8 seconds
Porsche 997TT – 9.5 Seconds

You left one of the fastest cars out. The Koenigsegg Agera R holder of the 2011: 0-300-0 km/h record. Time: 21.19sec. Guinness World Record.

My DD is a supercharged 94` Cutlass Supreme and I own a `84 Cessna Conquest with swapped engines. Ive also had the priviledge of driving a F40 at a Ferrari promotional event and that is what a super car should be. a glorified go-kart. So i`ve got ex with high performance. Back in its day that `70 SS was a super car and if you want something with performance that you wont feel bad about getting dirty that one is it. Realistic performance Vs Mid-Life crisis the choice is yours padawan

No ones trying to argue its just a bunch of car guys doing what we do. I love everything thats not a compact or hot hatch anyways.

PS you need to stand next to a S/C 454 or a 428 Cobra Jet at WOT and see if you dont have to re-arrange your crotch awkwardlly in a crowd.

mmmmmm GT-R...

Unfortunately, i'll never be able to afford to own one... though, I have numerous GT-R parts on my 240sx...as close as i'll ever get.

As for the Zonda, as others have mentioned, it's not THAT impressive, especially when you take the cost into consideration.

My 240sx is capable of 1100+ hp and would cost far, far less. The only catch is that it wouldn't look as good as the Zonda, and would never handle as well.

Same goes for the GT-R. Take both cars and put em in the hands of a real experienced driver, and it won't handle as well as the Zonda, but damn will it overtake a Zonda on a straight.

Nice car though.

The GT-R has better lap times on the Nurburgring than the Zonda and pretty much every other super car on the planet, save a very very small number of specialy tuned race cars such as the Radical SR8 and Gumpert Apollo.

People dont seem to understand what the GT-R is actualy capable off, last year I seriously considered just not buying a house and just buying one of them instead, im happy to live in a caravan in the field for a few years, because that field WOULD HAVE A GT-R IN IT, MY GT-R oh yes. They basicaly cost 60 grand and can destroy 250,000 grand super cars around a race track, from the factory.

Nice one with the 200, ive blown up a fair few fairladys in my time lol.

Zonda is an exotic car.
GT-R is a brick.

No disrespect to Nissan but choosing between these two cars is a no brainer.
Also, its not really fair if you include tuners in the equation.
Because there is serious different model of Zondas available.

Try to look at the Zonda R on Top Gear and you will see how crazy those italians are

The name of the company makes you wonder too.. Pagani .. Pagan ..

I agree that GTR's are pretty badass, ran in to a rally up at Mt. Saint Helens recently, and those suckers are fast.

This is more my taste though, my uncle's built 440 68 Charger.
