Evolution of Song - 50 Years in 18 Minutes

Hi guys,

Here's a video I threw together chronicling 50 years of pop and rock -

Evolution of Song

It was very interesting to explore the progression of song writing and production techniques since 1962, but incredibly difficult to re-create!

I'm a self taught musician and as such lack the ability to read music, so what you hear is pretty much the music as I hear it... (he says tongue in cheek!)

I hope it is of interest to some of you.

Only thing you are missing is Joy Division, and Prince I think.

I definitely hear 95% of the ones I know.

Very nice. You have a really versatile voice. I KNEW you were going to do Supertramp for '79! But you need to work on your Pete Townshend windmills haha. I was also hoping to hear you do Ric Ocasek's voice too. Also, why no Barenaked Ladies for your early 90's epoch?

It sounds like I need to do another one! That's the trouble with a project like this, you could do 10,000 versions and none of them would be the same.

Prince definitely needs some attention, and yes possibly some Barenaked Ladies. In fact, choosing the songs was the most difficult part of the whole process.

Haha, thanks again for the kind words! It'll be tough doing another one as I'll have to aim for bigger and grander things!
