I think my favorite line is:
We will move away from the Fiscal Cliff instead of going over it.
How can they do this when the deadline for this "Fiscal Cliff" is January 1, 2013.
Do they really think they can get into office before the end of the year and still have time to pass a bunch of new laws to make any effect. The Republicans in the House of Representatives have not been able to pass much more than gas for the past two years. (Or atleast that is what it sounded like to me)
I guess he believes in magic all the way around. Not only are they going to magically achieve all kinds of goals without so much as a plan but they are also going to swoop into office and save the country in a day or two.
Of course, all the TEA party folks elected so far have just increased spending but facts and Eurisko seem to hate each other.

It is my hopes and prayers that the general population of the U S A has been paying attention to the goings on in Washinton, D C over these last two years.
If this were to be the case, I hope that like myself, the ENTIRE voting population will vote a straight Democratic ballot this Novermber.
If this comes true we will see the benefits of being an abstructionist and "kicking the can down the road" while waiting to "take control".

Yes, since the GOP only has control of the House the decision was made to simply
- kick the can down the road - until we have control over the House, U.S. Senate and the
White House.
Everything will become clear to you on November 7, 2012.

- Everybody - dems and republicans - agree - that if we don't extend all of the Bush Tax Cuts
then we will fall back into a recession. There is a Ernst & Young study that backs them up.
All you have to do is read it.
“Seems odd that the researchers didn’t consider the scenario in which the additional tax revenues are used for deficit reduction,” said Moody’s chief economist Mark Zandi. “It seems to me that is the more relevant scenario. And my sense is that if they did, the results would be very different.”
Indeed, the Ernst & Young study forecasts based on two different assumptions: That the higher revenues are either used to finance across the board tax cuts, or to finance new government spending. It’s only in the latter scenario that the analysts forecast significant economic contraction.
“It is telling that when the additional tax revenues are used for across the board tax cuts, then the negative GDP impact is largely washed out and the employment impact is positive,” Zandi says.

- Approve the Keystone Pipeline
So you approve of the government stealing private property and displacing the owners for a few temporary jobs to move oil from Canada to the Gulf where it will be exported at no great profit to America?
How is that conservative?
It's better to get our oil from - our friends - in Canada than from an unstable middle east.
- Common Sense -
The Tea Party agreed to increase spending for now. We will reduce the size of the U.S. Government in 2013.

That oil is not coming to us.
Do you read anything?
That oil is just using our land to get by.

So the TP folks in congress lied, huh? The whole reason they had the support they did was because they said they would not agree with more spending and would decrease it. So they lied. Great....what makes them any different than a Republican or a Democrat?
By the way, how can you agree to increase spending and expect to reduce the size of government? That's doublespeak if you ask me.
BTW, the Keystone Pipeline will be built.
We only have power over 1/3 of the government (House) blah....blah....blah. ........so.....we will kick the can down the road until November 2012.

I doubt it. Too many people in the states in which the pipeline was supposed to go through said "HELL NO"! That's not politics, the people themselves said no. Republicans and Democrats alike.
So why keep pushing an issue that has no support?

So they played politics instead of standing on principle.
I got it now. They are a bunch of spineless bitches that rolled over for the party. You made it very clear.
Thanks!

Are they going to simply take people's land if they say no? Are they going to exploit Imminent Domain clauses just to build the pipeline?
"Freedom and patriotism......Now give me your land in the name of capitalism!"
Ya, sounds like the Neofascists alright.
Now is not the time to be unreasonable.

I agree. Instead of building a pipeline to carry Canadian oil, let's stop selling our own oil and keep it for ourselves. You knew that right? We sell a majority of our oil and then import the rest to meet demand.
How is that reasonable?edit on 10-8-2012 by sheepslayer247 because: (no reason given)
There is no crisis yet.
When Iran sets off a nuclear bomb over the Saudi Arabia oil fields then we will obviously make a few changes to ensure we have a vibrant economy in the USA with low priced gas.
