Sorry for this post but i thought id get this off my chest. My kids were playing in the front garden when a gang started harassing them ( my youngest is 4 years old) taunting , making fun insulting them and so forth, i went out to move them to get a mouthful of abuse (words i could myself never repeat).. eventually i lost my temper and chased the lil buggers off (still recieving threats and abuse) these young kids were responsible for a major assault on an old disabled man which left him in hospital on life support (still there now hes a lovely man whose only crime was to intervene and try to stop them bullying a young lad who wouldnt hurt a fly). police couldnt do anything because of the age of these kids and deemed asbos useless and stated their hands were tied and ouldnt be pursuing it any further.. my argument is the government removed all powers that we had to defend ourselves long ago and now the kids run the streets doing what ever they want to whoever they want and not be held accountable ( i did that as a kid i got a good clip round the ear).. what is the world coming to when my (and other ) children cant even play in the front garden for fear of abuse or worse. the laws need to change as no-one can touch these idiots...sorry for the rant guys but this is coming from a man whos had enough and is about to break/snap.

I understand your very real concerns. In Seattle where I live there is more and more gang related crimes and activity happening. It is scarey; there are certain parts of Seattle I won't go into; even during the day time.

I feel that you were very brave in chasing them away; they could have been packing guns; be careful.

Stories such as the one you are reporting make me think of ways to nail the little buggers without causing actual harm....I think a super-soaker squirt gun filled with water and crushed-up, strained jalepeno or habenero pepper juice should do the trick nicely. It burns like hell no matter if it hits the eyes or skin.

Take care to use gloves when working with the peppers, as you will feel like your hands are on fire for many hours afterwards if you don't.

It is useful for spraying garden plants for insects, as they don't like it either. Whether you spray the little pests, or the bigger ones, if they come on your property and harass your kids, it's their fault if they accidentally get squirted.

I have some problems with neighboorhood kids too. Or I did for that matter.

See I'm the kind of guy that will chase kids, catch them, walk them home and then kindly explain to their parents that if they won't behave, or they can't raise them to behave, that social services will be paying them a visit.

It usually works just fine

Ah I knew it! Don't worry man it could be worse.
Your probably dealing with young teens?
Everytime you see them call the police. Make stuff up if you have to. Make it no fun at all for them to be around your home. Be creative, Say they are selling drugs...chances are one of the buggers has something in his pocket.

if i was yelling abuse to a 4 yr old when i was 10 (15 yrs ago)
the child's father/mother would have chased us down and kicked the S'#%# out of us
not just that we would have been picked on in turn by "bigger" kids (karma)

we don't have that nowadays and kids think they are invincible and protected under the law
they are...

i personally think these kids need "setting about" by even BIGGER kids

a bully will only learn error of their ways when in turn they are bullied themselves
some bullies never learn I'm afraid though... but MOST will!
the rest tend to end up in prisons or in the army (as drill instructors/sergeants)

I agree with you entirely. These kids are scum, from around 16, I believe if they still act in such an indecent way, we should be allowed to take care of the situations ourselves, as Police rarely deal with the problem.

Get your kids started in martial art. Not just self defence, but to show them the truths of how ugly these situations can get. I started when I was 7, have done it for 13 years, and if not anything else, it’s built a very strong, ethically true confidence that’s helped me in many ways. These kinds of people are street, they don’t have rules, manners or ethics, they live off estates, don’t work, and cause trouble for all people in society, elderly, young, working or ill. There’s no need to take it, and I don’t think anyone should.

Find a local kickboxing or MMA class with a proven track record, with a supportive instructor and a friendly group of people within, and guaranteed that’ll help bring out your kids confidence. They like to bully people they think won’t give anything back, but if someone’s confident, you can tell from the way they talk with other people, the way they act, even from the way they hold themselves when the walk. It’ll help them in the future too, as good confidence (not arrogance) can help with school life and career paths.

great idea!!!

if they don't have drugs/cash on them is a flipping miracle!!!

and if you do it repeatedly they will think that area is "on top" (high police activity area)
and leave you alone...
unless they live next door... in that case phone the council and when their parents get complaint letters you may make progress if not it only takes so many complaints before they get kicked out

i wish the kids around our area were that easy to deal with my friend...they can do whatever they want to u and not be touched..as soon as you lay a finger on them they scream assault or accuse you of other things.

the police around here dont want to know unless you are seen as the aggressor.
We have regular residents meetings and its always the same complaints ( we are in the same boat as a lot of parents with kids) Its got to the stage that my kids cannot even play on the esate without abuse, so i built them a park in the back garden (100 foot long) but it shouldnt be that way.

good idea my friend totally agree. my kids can fight very well to be honest but choose to only in self defence. (i have a mma background myself so i taught them alot). im a great believer in two wrongs dont make it right so make fighting a last resort. but you have a great and sound idea my friend and i will look into getting my children into a good club asap.
many thanks for your wise words: karl
