I'm very sorry to hear your dog was bitten. I hope it's okay! Beautiful creatures aren't they, snakes? I have never been bitten by a venomous snake (although too many times to count) but I have been bitten numerous times by the domesticated pet pythons I have had. It sure doesn't tickle!

Yes, my Dachshund is fine. The vet gave him some anti venom and he was good to go in a couple of days. I take him with me fishing and he got a bit too curious with this Cottonmouth on the bank of the river that I fish at. The Cottonmouth didnt take a liking with him much and struck him on his mouth
- Needless to say, the bottom of his mouth (chin area) was swollen up like a golf ball for a few days. The swelling is gone now though.

I admit I'm afraid of almost all snakes. Even in zoos the freak me out. But I've never seen a demonstration like that of what it would do to a person. It's very interesting and makes them even scarier. Fascinating video.

I also think that we as a human race, are hardwired/hardcoded to fear Snakes due to some happenings in our ancient past.

All good then. I used to have a dog named Toro, half irish wolfhound and half bullmastiff. She was the ultimate snake hunter! She would be by my side, while I was doing work around the property, and so many times she pounced on taipans and shake them like crazy to kill them. I probably would have been bitten if it wasn't for her! She died of old age my Toro darling RIP.

I'll just leave this here for anyone wanting to see some good stuff on snake venom and one of Stan Lee's "superhuman"

www.youtube.com...

This guy allows himself to be bit by venomous snakes very interesting.

I don't wanna get in trouble so ...

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME VERY DANGEROUS!!!!
