Are you sure what NASA is telling us is the truth? Probably Mars is still wet, and habitable by certain extremophiles? Whatever happened to that report of immense amounts of methane seen emanating from surface cracks? Does that mean there's some sort of plant/microbial life under the surface of Mars producing that methane?

Here's what NASA dishes out. Mars looks red, lifeless and foreboding in this NASA image:

So, does Mars look actually like this instead of the gory red color they always show?

Why NASA has to indulge in this is apparently because the red filter on the cameras is supposed to enhance resolution and also reduce the amount of data required to be transmitted back to Earth. At least that's what they say. Is that true? I haven't the faintest clue!

I'm not sure if someone already mentioned this, but NASA's rover Curiosity is set to land on Mars August 6th. Let's wait and see what it finds.

You're not alone. A lot of people see a mermaid too. In fact, I started a thread on just that. To me they look like inverted twins....separated at birth!

Someone else may have posted...perhaps our leaders will keep pissing earth away to the point that it ends up looking like Mars? perhaps mars is a sign to us? like those sick people in the cigarette smoking commercials....keep screwin up and end up lookin like.

Please do NOT use Google Mars or Google Moon to search for anomalies! They produce artifacts due to multiple processing and compression, resulting in many large artifacts in the form of geometric dark blocks that look like artificial structures which needless to say, they are not!

If you use the wrong filters you will get the wrong colours, that's the same as adding 1+2+3 and 1+2+4 and expect the same result.

This post should be referenced more often wtih the Mars colour stuff I suspect.

Funny how all this stuff comes up over and over again here at ATS.

Funny as it may be, how about explaining this....

Here's that same image that was finally released to the public....



Can you care to explain what made them do this? Whatever happened to those lengthy explanations on filters used on the CCDs on the PanCam in that link you provided?

Obviously they reprocessed this image using the L2 filter that resulted in making the image more red so as to 'increase brightness'. So then it comes about that many of the originals are of the color shown in the briefing. And by the way, there are a number of originals from NASA/JPL apparently without the L2 filter, showing a 'blue' sky too!

Two colors of the same sky on Mars? Wouldn't it have been better if they had released a few images to the public without the red L2 filter!

The crux of the problem I think is the L2 filter (The L4,L5 and L6 filters correspond to the points R,G and B) replacing the L4 filter thereby shifting the Red point by 150nm to the very edge of infra-red.

Well, for one, Mike has never claimed to have been teleported to Mars and back like Basiago! I at least haven't seen or heard him make such outlandish claims!

And that he has been to those super secret bases on Mars like Basiago claims he has!

And that he has traveled back and forth in time like Basiago claims he has!

So there's a lot of difference here I think! One is a nut case. No prizes for guessing who!

Has no-one noticed this? Maybe it's just me but it looks like a woman is sitting down with her back to the camera and a wall behind her that stops half-way up her back.

I will try.

When we use the images just as they were taken, one for each filter, we get a "virtual" image that shows the colours as they were captured by the camera.

But they have information about the conditions during the taking of the photos, and they have the characteristics of the camera, so they adjust the images to show how things would have looked to someone standing near the camera, and that's when we get the "red skies" versions, in the same way we get "red skies" on Earth when there's too much dust in the air.

I think the boy that's mentioned was called the "Boriska Boy" wasnt he? I know it was Boriska something anyway, but yeh, starseed's and indigo children, I dont believe in any of that stuff, just plain old delusions of grandeur in my book, we would all like to think we are special, but in all honesty, majority of us are just average. But hey, that's just my opinion, and it's open to interpretation, one amongst many different opinions, I'm always open minded, and if presented with evidence to the contrary, then I will change my beliefs!!
