thanks for that link!.. i read the OP of it and it was awesome! haha

it was very informal and made me see how i might be able to use LOA in my life.

we'll see how it works out..

i wonder though.. when using the LOA, can it be done within one day so that you can actually tell whether it works or not?
or is it something that takes place over time?

im not saying i will become skeptical if it doesnt work after a few days but i am just curious

it was a very interesting idea wasnt it!

and i am sure it is somewhat of a way of praying.. and im sure with praying you can achieve some of the things they talk about in the movie.

but i do think that it is more than just praying.. or just meditation... but i dont know what

If we are to give the "Law of Attraction" any weight then figuring out how we attracted all the crap we complain about daily would be time better spent than wishing for a new shiny thingamajig.

Side note: James Arthur Ray was convicted of negligent homicide and sentenced in Nov.'11. He is a prominent example of the "guru's" on that video.

I don't even have to read the rest of the posts to know "the secret".

The Law of Attraction: positive thinking brings positive change.

All the stuff mentioned by OP and posters is a retelling of As Above, So Below and the belief that man is God, not of God.

All I can say is beware; if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

For instance:

11 is a code for a pyramid.

4
3 3
2 2
1 1

1+2+3+4+3+2+1 = 11

EDIT: Site will not format #'s into a pryamid shape and also i botched it lol.

Well, I suppose 11:11 isn't a code for pyramid then?

Prince William is also an 11.

His B-day is 6-21-82, a solstice.

11 are intuitives, leaders, aka important people…

But it could also be broken down to 1+1 = 2, which is a reference to the Adversary.

I’ll take flack for this, but whatever…

Numerology and Astrology were given to man by fallen angels, I do not have my copy of the Book of Enoch at work so I can not tell you which.

This is philosophical populism.
It goes into sollipsism and it ignores karma.
And, at a more refined level, over centuries of lifetimes, it works.
As Terence put it, "it this is not true, something LIKE this m ust be true."
That is why I call it a disservice, it is oversimiplification of an existing spiritual law.
A McDonadl's version of enlightenment.
Explore the real thing.

The secret is such BS.

Imagine telling someone who is starving to death that the only reason they are not better off is that they just didn't wish for it hard enough or they just didnt want it hard enough.

Try telling someone with a terminal disease that they are going to die because they just haven't wished to live in the right way.

Try walking into a betting shop and telling all the people who just lost on a race that they just didn't wish for a win hard enough.

The whole idea of 'the secret' is a very old scam that has been used in many different guises over the years. Someone explained to me how to make money with this system over 20 years ago. I was very surprised when i saw 'the secret' video as they are blatantly using this system.

When i was told 'the whole thing sells itself by word of mouth' i was skeptical but now after seeing how many people fall for this scam there's no doubt in my mind that there's money to be made with it. Putting the whole new age slant on it was a total stroke of genius.

Uhmmm, no it isn't. If you also read the book, you would understand that action is also part of the "Secret." It's also about planning and obtaining goals using steps to get what you want. No magic involved, but the readers participation is.

Most people who are starving have no access to the book or the video.

Try telling someone with a terminal disease that they are going to die because they just haven't wished to live in the right way.

Terminal illness happen to people who you might have considered to be living the right way, since you seem to be on a bender about people living the wrong way. Nowhere in the book or the video does it tell anyone that they can live forever. Nobody does.

Try walking into a betting shop and telling all the people who just lost on a race that they just didn't wish for a win hard enough.

Betting has odds, Some win, and some lose. Tell that to the people who bet. The book and the video no way indicate that people are going to become rich, just because they believe they will.

Nope, it doesn't work this way, either. Apparently you have sour grapes for being scammed over 20 years ago.

When i was told 'the whole thing sells itself by word of mouth' i was skeptical but now after seeing how many people fall for this scam there's no doubt in my mind that there's money to be made with it. Putting the whole new age slant on it was a total stroke of genius.

How can it be a scam nowadays? People share books, and video's so how much more money can the authors make? It's all about participating. Nowhere in the book or the video do they claim that money will just fall into your lap. So, in a sense, I think you are right....it is a scam if you don't pay attention to what is written, and what is said in the video. For you, it is a scam. You have to make your life right for good things to happen to you!

Good luck with your lousy attitude!

ooook so you are trying to say that is starving people had access to the book they wouldn't starve? please..thats just offensive. Seriously people who are dying of hunger dont need to buy a book to be told how to wish they were rich enough to get food.

The book and the video no way indicate that people are going to become rich, just because they believe they will.

The book says all you need to do is really wish and want for something and it will happen. Which is a lie. You have the guy in the video who says he wishes for a parking space when he goes into a garage and there it is..

You have the guy in the video who says he wrote a cheque for a million and put it on the ceiling and just wished on it ever day and then it happened.

This is a scam because people are buying books and videos of the secret. Yes people illegally copy videos and share books but that's not the target audience. The target audience is low-middle class people who want to be richer. People with just enough cash to spend on a book that will get them nowhere. The producers spent money making the books and videos and they expect a return.

I can see how the new age crowd are easily fooled by this idea because they want to believe in a kind of magic and karma that binds the world together.

I never lost any money on this scam because i was introduced to it as a scam in the first place

You get out of life what you put into

You become what you eat

Fill your mind with negativity and you will become negative

It is not rocket science.

No, it isn't offensive. Most people who are starving don't have access to the video or book, let alone food. It's not a given that people who are starving can wish a meal into place. The whole philosophy of "The Secret," teaches that the person wanting change has to be an active participant in the process. Get off your high horse. Nothing comes without effort and participation. That being a job, or whatever. I don't expect the Mini Cooper I have been eyeing, to magically appear in my driveway, more than a guy who is eyeing a bowl of rice he hasn't made an effort to receive.

No, it nowhere says you have to just wish for anything. Those events were coincidences after they discovered "The Secret." I am sure you get parking spaces that you wouldn't expect sometimes, too. Random events can happen, even to people with bad attitudes. Did you thank the universe the last time you got a good spot?

You have the guy in the video who says he wrote a cheque for a million and put it on the ceiling and just wished on it ever day and then it happened.

That is not the way it happened, so you need to go back and read the book. Some effort was put into place for him to receive the check. It did not just fall into his lap, he had to put effort into it. It was a goal for him to strive for, and he made it happen.

This is a scam because people are buying books and videos of the secret. Yes people illegally copy videos and share books but that's not the target audience. The producers spent money making the books and videos and they expect a return.

Do you realize how long "The Secret," has been around? You can rent the book for free from a library, and chances are pretty good that you can borrow the movie from a friend or coworker. The return is that people like us discuss it at this point. Very few royalties to be made!

I can see how the new age crowd are easily fooled by this idea because they want to believe in a kind of magic and karma that binds the world together.

There is nothing "New Age," about working towards goals to survive. You obviously don't believe in all that, but I bet your parents did. They were active participants in life. As for Karma, yep, it is true. An ages old sentiment states, "No good deed goes unrewarded." Bad ones don't either. Any fool knows this, and it doesn't take "The Secret, " to say it.

I never lost any money on this scam because i was introduced to it as a scam in the first place

Well, a fool is easily parted from his money. So no, you didn't loose anything, but you didn't gain anything, either!

I watch it about once a year since it came out as a refresher,.
It works,
in fact I was doing it the "secret" way long before i saw the film.
which made me a believer cause it worked for me already.
you just have to want it bad enough to become reality.

Really? I bet wanting something bad enough made you conscious of what you had to do to receive it.

It just a cutesie idea for greedy middle class people. While the rest of the world is living in poverty. Wishing for material good is bad karma while people lay dying of dysentery in areas with no access to proper sanitation or food.

You might not think it offensive to tell someone who is dying of hunger they just dont want to be rich enough to feed themselves but then maybe you are just heartless. Go to a library? Some people havent even ever had the chance to learn to read!

People who get what they want will try to tell everyone else it works while anyone who doesnt get what they want wont tell anyone. Its no secret its a scam.

No, I am not heartless. I am a realist. As I said, nowhere in the book does it claim to be magic into the lives of people who are wishing. Life takes action, and if anything "The Secret," points that out. If people are to helpless to help themselves, then the it won't work.

You obviously did not read the book before watching the video. All I can say is that I am done dealing with you until you read the book. Be a stick in the mud, and that is what you will get.
