Self development, the growth of consciousness, is evolutionary, its always going up.

We learn by all life experiences, good and bad, we learn with negative and positive experiences, nothing is useless to the soul growth process, so in this perspective life is always good because its always useful, even if it hurts sometimes.

As for material development, nothing is guaranteed. We can be high one day, low in the day after, its up and downs, its aleatory, its not an evolutionary process, its alive and has a life of its own, no matter how hard we try, we can't control it. We can only do our best and enjoy what life gives us, knowing that we cant control it, only enjoy it while it lasts.

This is reality, so if you think your material life (career, money, job) must be an ascending line always evolving, you are deluded. The hard reality will wake you up someday.
Its best if you avoid this frustration and accept reality as it is.

I am of the firm belief that science and spirituality go hand in hand. Science is the mind aspect, and spirituality is the heart aspect. They combine to form the Higher Consciousness, the Christ Consciousness.

But since we weren;t sufficiently advanced, technology-wise, they had to put a pause on the deal so we could catch up with our material mastery, mastering technology and mastering the world with it. Now comes our spirituality, but our bodies are addicted to materialism now, and going for so long without mastery of the mind, we are helpless to defend ourselves. And because the government has either forgotten or chosen to ignore the original plan, it is now programming us so that all we are suitable for is the materialism game.

Until we overcome materialism and begin to accept the higher dimensions, we will not advance spiritually. We will be stuck in the mud until such a time as we either destroy ourselves or kick ourselves in the ass and get moving. I'm not sure I see that happening, though, and that's why I fear the world might be doomed.

Nice little post Manula - some wise words there.

Not sure where all the replies are
People too busy making money today.

An Indian Sadhu said to me during my travels - allow money to come in to one hand and leave the other. I know - not exactly a zen koan, but it means don't get too caught up in accumulating wealth, trying to hold on to money, because that will create fear and a sense of 'never having enough'
