I Search for many websites to get an idea where certain corps sit. But guess which site I could not find...www.scientology.org... or anything officially related to them. They do not show up....hmmmmm,

Some people thought that an old member of this site wasn't what he claimed to be, from the NSA. I actually talked with him on several occasions and think it was possible. He just talked differently and about things that regular folk didn't.

This is weird for me. I always had the idea that if something is "True" that it bears up under scrutiny and doesn't shy away from it,

That alone makes me suspicious.

I don't care, I have my own things going on... I come here rarely, when I do, I see this stuff more tham I used to.

I was able to pull up the website around 5pm (CST) today... Not sure what would have happened to it...

yes.... been tracking disapprearing threads on ATS; here's the thread A thread in Question...and sensitive subjects on ATS

seems they go bye-bye and then deep searching.. using multiple search words (20mins later) they come up .. sometimes..

With all the domestic spying going on it really would be moot if this site was linked to a government agency of some sort. Two different paths leading to the same result, *** Que Music*** I always feeeeel like,, somebooddiieess waaaaatchiiin meeee.

I was around the first time people got stuck on this idea and honestly...... it's not worth the trouble. I despise such intrusions on our very liberties but I stubbornly recognize it and at this point I understand that it just doesnt matter, if an official decides he wants to know the ins and outs of your life then by all means he'll do just that.

Too much is wrong in this country and around the globe, there's no back way out, no plan B, everything has to fail and we're going to have to pretty much restructure the entire economy. Social Security will be the first thing to go

That's not what it was about. there were connections to the owners, that this was actually a controlled website by the DoD. I'm not saying it was but it was a pretty big deal a couple of years ago. Lost a good 100+ members if not more.

Dam! Not that it really matters! As long as i can converse with some like minded intelligent people does it really matter whom runs the site & who's watching! This just shows me that we are like the revolutionarys of the information highway sorting through fact and fiction! Maybe they think that we will most likely by the leaders of the eventual revolution! Maybe they just want to see how close to the truth our opinions are! Or maybe they are just here rating us on how nonconformist we are! Whatever the reason is I will never run from the moral high ground because of surveillance, threats or the likes! What doesn't bear up to scrutiny?

ATS is a private website that has no affiliation with any government agency whatsoever.

People who are disgruntled with the site - usually ex members who have been banned because they are unable to post within the T&C (although not always, sometimes people who are plain nuts or just haters) take great delight in trying to do us down. The length and extents that they will go to is, frankly astounding considering that the internet is a massive place and they can simply log off and never come back. Its all to do with D-Ego.

Heres a post I wrote 3 years ago on the subject

All kinds of allegations get made against the site, and time and time again we try and patiently explain things, only for more people to pile on and pee all over our carpet as they'd rather believe the lies than what we tell them.

And yet the answer is simple. Anyone who doesn't believe the fact that we have no ties to government agencies can simply log off and never come back. Its not difficult to do. No one is being forced to stay here.

You can't get more transparent than that.

This made me laugh. Mainly due to carpet peeing

I don't understand why this is so hard to believe, or why it would even matter. Who cares who owns ATS? Does that really matter? As far as I can see, no subject is unduely censored here. I don't see how anyone can think there is an ulterior motive behind the site owners other than making money off a site they themselves enjoy.

As Neformore said, no one makes anyone come here, we do it by choice. Who owns the site, or their motives for having the site are not relevent. If you are worried about your content being reported to the NSA, try posting some threating comments about the president on facebook, or any other site for that matter, and see how long it takes before you come under an investigation by the FBI. There is no reason to believe ATS is in bed with the goverment, US or otherwise.

The topics discussed here daily should point out that ATS is a free speech zone, regardless of the issue in question. How that leads people to assume certain things is beyone me. Someone please enlighten me.

The government can't stop the topics. It would make more sense for them to join in and try to steer the conversations along the lines that they would like people to hear.
