how is you're able to obtain copies of the CCTV tape? Is anyone allowed to get any footage from anywhere?

Your answer is in the thread

she is up farming at silly o'clock every single day, and they have CCTV all over the farm due to thieves in the past, so she regularly checks the footage.

I wasn't sure who the 'they' were. Was it private citizens or police.
Not everything is crystal clear to everyone at the same time Gorty

The CCTV on streets, towns etc, is run by the Police/Councils and there is a main centre where people are watching all the screens, that footage only gets released to the Police who will decide if it is public interest to release it.

Private footage, you can show to whoever you like..hope that helps

By the way, my friend is having trouble uploading the video...I've suggested YouTube if the file is too large.

Hey hey...Im trying It's not my video and I have to wait for replies from my friend, dont want to keep hassling her!

Here is the latest, she is uploading it to YouTube now, its been loading for 30mins and says 200 mins to go???? What does that mean, is the file too large...surely it shouldnt take that long O__o

....I've told her to film some, pause and skip along take some more footage, she is trying to upload a whole 20 minutes worth, think maybe that is why its taking so long...I really dont know so if someone can advise on this?

...Ok, well she is going to leave the camera uploading it to YouTube, its at 22% so we all have to wait...I'll have to stay up now until its done as I want to see it first...

I'm not going to keep updating, but I doubt it'll be tonight, she says, she wants the whole 20 minutes uploaded as she doesnt want the video to look tampered with (fair play to her I say) ...problem is, 194 minutes still to go

Don't panic though, as soon as she gives me the link I'll be sharing with y'all
Ooh well she has kindly given me the link..it says it is being processed so I shall keep checking

Mediafire is probably a better solution then. Youtube compresses the video, mediafire would keep it in the original state.

Oh don't! I was up 4 times during the night checking the link she gave me, only to see it suddenly say 'Sorry, this video is private' !!! Apparently she had severe issues uploading it, and it failed, I've suggested Mediafire to her (altho the link was broken so had to Google it). One way or another she will get it done, she wants us al to see it as she wants to know what it could be.

I'll be back....

Odd, I am not sure why ATS would feel the need to censor a link to a filehost like that......
Hopefully the same doesn't happen to the link to the video.

this site won't work with mediafire you have to use 4shared.

Finally, I have the video, I have to say, my friend has tried really hard at this for everyone....she isnt happy she had to cut the vid so short as she says you lose the effect....she said it was doing so much she wanted to show. If anyone can figure how to upload the complete video please let me know.

She says, the small flashing lights are Moths. And the light in the tree, stayed there a while before shooting straight upwards, and it isnt showing in any CCTV since.

On the plus side, I think she did a good job of showing the date/time so that people can see it wasnt tampered with....Im just sorry there isnt more of it as there isnt a huge amount to go on. But anyways, as promised...

I am not sure if this is an insect, due to it growing and decreasing in size (the shape in the tree makes me think it is not an insect)...but then I am no expert on CCTV vs insects etc. As to what it really is...I really don't know what to think just yet.

Well thanks to your friend for trying. Still, this video is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

She's filming her cctv footage with a video cam , direct off a TV right?

She needs to get the video direct onto her hard-drive (plenty of freeware programs on the net for conversion) then uploaded to a file hosting site (as has been mentioned in earlier parts of the thread).

Hi, yes I realise this, and so does she, however...she is a farmer, and not savvy in the techy skills needed, nor does she have a lot of free time. Her computer is slow, very slow, and she has tried to do what she can. I'll ask however...

I've just watched the strangest video from my friend, another CCTV upload from the same spot, that is very weird. At present, it is on Facebook set to her friends only, so I cannot share, I've asked her to upload it to Youtube so I can share with ATS, if it doesnt work this time (she had problems with the length of video last time) I'll use my camera to do it and someone will have to tell me how to upload it! Back when she replies....

ETA she replied, she has that one and another she will upload tomorrow evening. I'll be back
