Homosexual teachers show homosexual videos in university class

This is the juicy topic I was promising. I attended a university in Canada and as part of a "class" I was shown homosexual pornography pretty much. I complained to the security recently and they did nothing. One of the videos was of a bald woman dancing around showing people pictures of her family and the second was of a man half dressed in leather pants trying to kill himself. I was also shown videos of people trying to kill themselves, etc. Basically artsy snuff films. It was such a joke. I didn't know what to do. The two teachers involved were a homosexual couple.

What class are they trying to teach?

If it some type of Drama then.... I would expect this...

Ah well there you go then. if it was artsy stuff then im sure they where just trying to show you how diverse film can be. Not all Hollywood.

Don't see how their homo sexuality came into this though. Was it just cos the leather pants guy was on the tv?

Any study of art involves a lot of weird crap.

The gist of it is that people are idiots and will buy/fund just about any nonsensical garbage out there.

Art is the best scam ever. All image, no substance despite what critics and artists may say, and lot's of money the least not being government grants.

It's a great racket to get into.

The case of Mr. Brainwash is the perfect illustration of what a crock art is. Especially modern art. In that way perhaps his art is "successful"?

Was it the sexual nature that offended you or because it was homosexual?

Either way, I was under the impression adults attended universities, so they can show that but you are free to leave.

How can a video be homosexual? (slightly pedantic I know!)

But seriously, how is a person on their own, dancing around, being bald or wearing leather pants, homosexual or pornographic? Is it just that you interpret it as such? There will be complaints procedures in your university if you feel that the material you were presented with does not relate to the syllabus.

Sounds like they were opening your eyes to the wider world of the subject in question.

I think the more salient concern is how the teacher's sexuality is an issue - would it have been better or worse if a straight teacher/s had shown it?

I think the mask has slipped here...believe it or not, being homosexual doesn't mean you are a sexual deviant.

Easy, make a video of some skin heads bashing gays. Artsy porn for racists, a topical examination of the world around you.

Here is the problem with that argument. Adult content. Adults attend. You're free to leave. OH, and still get teh course credits, which are part of your DEGREE for something that you wish for, that should not mean being forced to witness things that ARE DARK SIDE CODINGS? Do we have that kind of choice, learn in positivity?

Homosexuality isn't, its just a slice of life for a minority group. And respecting them, is fine. But I don't watch porno. I don't support a media that hires people to disrobe and do sexual things, for that is complete exploitation of people and a crime to me. I have nothing against nudity, and whatnot, have been a hippy much of my life, HOWEVER that is not the same thing as being paid to disrobe and do sexual things.

Also I don't have to expose myself to NLP programming of suicide, war, trauma, etc.

AND YET I HAVE FULL RIGHTS TO MY DEGREE AND EDUCATION. So we're having a problem in this.

At the university level, they can show you about anything they want. It doesn't even have to really fit with the curriculum. You can always drop the class, or drop your pants and dance along with the film, whatever, you're all adults at this point.

Ya, it doesn't sound like a class I would enjoy anyway. Aren't all artsy films pretty much homosexual? I don't know a lot of straight guys making that bizarre academia type stuff, not unless it is drug-induced.
