I actually have a Sigma .40 myself. It was my first gun. I didn't like the trigger at first but after I got used to it I could shoot fairly well with it. I threw one of those Hogue wrap-around grips on it and it helps the feel of it a lot for me. I actually carry it sometimes, but it isn't my favorite because I don't love the idea of no external safety. I was looking at the Sigs too, I liked their compacts a lot but I am kinda wanting something with a safety. I've only been carrying about 4 years so just like the precaution. Maybe I'm just paranoid

My vote goes to the Glock 21. 13 rounds of 45 ACP makes a great home defense pistol.

I have shot before when I was in the boy scouts I learned how to shoot both rifles and shotguns. I also live in a city with a high amount of gun violence. Guns just dont appeal to me personally. I dont need a gun to feel safe. And even if I did buy a gun one would suffice. Who needs 3 or 4 guns?

its about the length from the tip of my index finger almost to my elbow... If your out of ammo you could always use it as a club.

Next time I'm hunting for food in the supermarket I'll remember that. I can see a real need for one of these.

I can vouch for the Glock 21sf as well. Shoots great, no issues I am aware of and depending on how you dress and body size, makes a great cc.

A handgun is designed to kill a person. So you want to put yourself in a position where you can shoot and kill someone? Then end up like Trayvon Martin's killer? Where you're in jail because you thought you did the right thing? He who lives by the sword will also die by the sword. Your putting yourself at risk by CC my friend.

The thought of no safety doesn't really bother me all that much.

I have been carrying regular for the better part of 15 years though so I am pretty comfortable.

Ok then ignore the financial question. You already have two guns. Why do you need more? You can already carry the ones you have and you were not thinking about buying another one until the issue of guns came up. Whats the point? Lol

I don't really enjoy carrying the ones I have. So it actually makes me carry less, which I could kick myself for if I get in an self defense situation like benrl has been in. I don't like one of them because of the lack of safety I mentioned. Others because they are too big or too heavy. Just want one I can carry and be completely comfortable with. I think that you should really love everything about a firearm you'll be carrying on your person and do not currently have one that fits the bill.

Why do you have guns? I am just curious. I don't see it as good or bad.

Just interested............

Why would you want to purchase a gun?

Why would you want to kill people?

I have lived all over the world, traveled here, traveled there..........been to some really notorious places, never had the need to have a gun or for that matter get physical?

Do you live in a war zone?

Or are you just a wimp?

There are other reasons than "killing people" to own a gun...

It's a great investment. Have you seen how much some of the older, well cared for firearms go for?

Sometimes the owner, believe it or not...is NOT looking for trouble. But occasionally some dumbarse does do a home invasion and leaves with his arse in his hand because the owner could protect his/her home/family. These things do happen. Not just in the movies either.

Some folks still like to hunt. If nobody hunted, you wouldn't be able to drive down the road safely in any rural area. It's good food without worry of GMO, additives, etc. You can't do a clean kill with a sling shot.

I am sure there are more reasons. These are the reasons we have firearms in our home. And I am female...so maybe a wimp if I am accosted by a man.

Paranoid?

ever had the need to draw? Even, pull that trigger on another human?

I am really interested to know why someone would walk around with a gun?

In my country they are known as cops or loonies, which one are you?

Well. I was actually anti-gun up until about 5 or 6 years ago. I was never around them, the family didn't have them growing up or anything. Then my house got broken into. I wasn't home, no one got hurt, and I know having a gun in that situation would have made zero difference. But I was a victim, and being a victim is a terrible feeling. I don't want to be a victim again, in a worse scenario, if I can give myself a means out of that situation.

It's also a lot of fun. I love going to the range and just target shooting. It really is wonderful stress relief.

Okkkayyyyy? Um, I live in Australia.........how rural do you want to get? We really have no problems......it's called a bullbar?

No need for guns here, no call for guns here. If you did not have guns, you would not have gun problems.

Thats a great argument...

I purchased my gun to shoot as a hobby.

Over a year later someone broke into my house, I went to go look, I had my gun, it was dark.

The man attacked me with a Knife.

Good thing I had my gun I bought as a hobby...

Yea the cops my wife called when we first heard the noise got there about 20 minutes after.

It was a bit of an ordeal legally, but I rather went through that than have me or my wife injured...

The physiological damage was the worst, for years I would have nightmares...

Id rather have nightmares than be dead.

When I bought the gun I was a typical CA Dem, anti-gun, even buying the gun was a big strech in the first place.

Since than I have purchased more guns as a hobby, my XD45 though is the one thats buy my nightstand to this day.

Yea, Ill give up the tool that saved me and my wife...

i like the .40 s&w. personally i carry a Taurus pt740 slim, great lil gun fair price and all Taurus firearms come with a lifetime warranty, that goes with the gun no matter if it changes owners. my only gripe was the lack of pinky room, but that was remedied with a cheap set of grip extensions. i picked my pt740 up on armslist for $300 heres my link to the site you don't have to follow it but it would help me in a contest for a nice knife.
www.armslist.com...

good luck finding the perfect weapon for yourself.

No, no, just wanting to grab a couple more in case the process starts getting more complicated anytime soon. With the Small Arms Treaty looming and all of the anti-gun sentiment I'd just like to have a more well-rounded collection

Im moving to Oregon in late august, IM tempted to stock up on all the nice guns CA doesn't allow...

Now i just have more incentive too.

You should
Yeah I feel like I might be being paranoid about the Treaty thing sometimes (I've think I've been more paranoid after joining ATS
). But it couldn't hurt. And like Kangaruex said they are good investments. I'm in the south so we don't have the restrictions you guys get out there. I kinda want one of those Masterpiece Arms MAC-10s in .45 just because they look so non-politically correct
