You have the power with your voice and faith to move mountains. Use your voice, yell in the name of Jesus for Peace to be Still.

You'd think out of all the people in New Orleans, someone would have thought to just tell Katrina to be still? Or, in Joplin, MO, where my family lives, right in the heart of the Bible Belt, I saw videos of people huddled together praying intensely, but apparently the wind was too high for God to hear them?

Prayer is a wonderful thing for calming nerves, clearing your mind, even feeling a little less helpless, but I don't think it stops the wind.

What can you do proficiently that does not take years and years of practice?

Sorry, but I've seen 80 year old women that never missed a day of church in their life, lived wonderful lives, trust ultimately in the Lord, kneel at the altar, and pray earnestly, only to find out God had other plans.

Personally, I don't believe in praying for anything. I pray to converse, to thank, to understand, but I would never presume to second guess a natural occurence as powerful as a thunderstorm. Something like that is clearly God's will, and it is affecting WAY more people than me, and I wouldn't want to change it on my behalf. I'd rather just hang on for the ride.

That is why all prayers should be adjusted in accordance with his will. You surrender the outcome and give over to his will.

You are just the supplier of the energy handed over to God. By free will he is prohibited from reaching into our lives very far. But when we pray and give him that power and authority, he can work miracles.

Anybody who puts that much effort into trying to convince people of their religion, is only trying to convince themselves.

You are derailing this thread. You won't win people over to your beliefs by being annoying and spouting off as you are, it's argumenative and does nothing to prove your point. It's irritating and is one behavior that leads people away from His word. Stop irritating people, talk about the op subject or go elsewhere please.

With the acceleration and frequency of these events what do you think is going to stop them. Wishful thinking? I am trying to help people understand what is happening so they can deal with them as they were meant. If that bothers you then I am sorry for you. If the majority on this thread want me to stop then I will obey your wishes.

Yes, please stop. You are preaching to people who want to track weather. Now, honor your word and stop now.

Thank You,

Des

The people in that squall line have the power to change or stop it according to their belief.

ProphetBoy,
I am a Christian but God does not stop bad things from happening to people if they pray. If it's meant to happen it happens and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Praying helps people survive the bad things that happen to them more than it prevents bad things from happening. The people in the squall line are not going to stop the weather, neither is God going to stop the weather for them because they think that's what's best for them.

...NOW... back to weather tracking.

Throwing a fit in the KYOHWVA tri-state area. Looks like it's about to get worse for us too.

I've been trying to call my Daughter and Son-in-Law for the past hour, in MD. All phone lines are tied up....

The one that passed through a couple of weeks ago, left them without power for 10 days. I hope all is well there. It looks like crap on the radar.

Good luck to all in the path of this mess.

Des

I had better check on my family in Ky. So far
here in N. Indiana - just now seeing some rain
and thunderstorms coming in. It doesn't look
bad for us on radar so far, hope it stays that
way. Stay alert and safe everyone.
