Americans need to stand united against this forming police state.

No black, no white, no Asians, No Hispanics.

No Jews, No Muslims, No Buddhist, No Christians, No Atheist.

Just Americans standing united against such Tyranny.

That explanation may or may not be true. They must not have been hit much if they were able to immediately fire on the car and were fine. God knows the police would never make up something to cover their asses.

Even if this still shows bad training in my opinion. Firing wildly at a vehicle? And if it was 4 innocent people and the driver was the criminal? The cop only shot to inflict damage in revenge not out of duty or any sort of logic.

What is undeniable is that homicides committed by cops against innocent civilians is on the rise.
Kelly, the woodcarver, the sunday school teacher. It won't stop until something is done. I don't care if that is the people doing something or cops being trained better, but something has to happen because as it is cops are little more than murderers and opportunists. God knows they don't have time to solve thefts or anything of that nature.

Deny ignorance?

Lately on here it seems that " display ignorance" should be the new motto.

Should we be allowed to shoot cops who break the law and try to run away?

I feel like if I answer that truthfully, I might be put in jeopardy. Cause freedom of speech these days is apparently terrorism

It's legal video recording cops, soon as they show up hit the record button. I've seen cops arrest other cops abusing their badges, so not all of them can be bad. There is corruption no doubt, but it ain't all of them. .

That kind of says it all. We all feel like that. Thats the reason they cant corect themselves. Before anyone could offer the voice of reason and correct a bad apple before it rots. Now the bad apples are protected and forced to rot in order to survive. A carear you prepare for and dedicate thousands of hours to over time is worth a compromise here and there just from human nature.

The issue is that we as a people are limited in being that voice of reason because of the criminal aspect aplied to questioning, not even defying but just questioning authority. Its punishable for cops and civilians in general.

Good to know that the proper follow up was done on this story and debunked very early before all the cop bashing. How come we never take into account a websites credibility with stuff like this but in almost all other scenarios that's the first thing that is questioned.

How is it that if a bad source is speaking of an incident that it is bogus flat out,but if a good source is carying an incedent it is not even queationed if at all true.

Regardless of this one source. The cop is fine. The kid is not. No information has been shown or the victims acount heard, how are you so certain when the rest of us cant know either way. Thats why what you call "cop bashing" is going on. We are actualy talking about generalizations about either side. Instead of seeing the common ground; That as a society we are living in stressful times and level heads must prevail for either side to have a better future. That instead of a more conflictive one that we are heading towards.

Its time to come together as a country.
We are one people. Lets start off that.

So you don't have any of those witness statements? You just believe the police officers even though they changed their story three times?

I am all about debate. I have gone back and forth on the subject of whether police are to be trusted or not, several times, and I fully accept your assertion that many here are going to be critical of the police (how can you blame them when we see constant reports of police brutality, corruption, cover-ups, over-reactions and ineptitude?)

However, the evidence shows that they changed their version of events three times. That alone, from a police officer, is great cause for concern.

I really don't care how a person wishes to twist it, the police have changed their story. This alone is grounds for a larger level of investigation and cause for the people to be concerned about their morality and their integrity - at the very least!

Although I try to tell myself that it's just a "few bad apples", I am constantly made aware that it is more likely that it is "just a few good apples" in an otherwise wholly corrupt and violent system.

Sorry small keyboard. double post. Ill just post this too.

We need for our government to stop seeing us as an enemy. We need to one day not see them as the enemy. This situation can not and should not last forever.

No. Others have provided more. The point is you are making a claim which you cannot or refuse to back up.

It happens far far more often in saudia arabia and iran, than it does in america.

Oh for God's sake! Really? This isn't an "aside"; it's completely off-topic. But I will answer your question. Yes it does bother me as much. Both instances bother me.

I can't believe that you would try to turn this into an anti-Islam issue. Actually, I can. Absolutely pathetic.

how many times has a suspect been put in jail for changing their testimony from one day to another. If i get talked to by a cop and I change my story as I remember things they will hold it against me..

so why should a cop changing the story be any different.

I think the truth lays in the middle in that the story was changed a few times because some how some way they had loose ends when they gave the initial story. In the initial story they might have left something that could be turned against them whether the suspect was guilty or innocent but they didn't want any dirt on themselves. so they keep tweaking the story as they see fit to plug any faults they may have had. Not saying the suspect was innocent but chances are they handled the situation poorly and are covering their tracks.

Unless you are extremely biased because you are in law enforcement yourself i cannot see how the changing in the story is not a concern.

Glad to see someone actually doing their homework and getting the facts.Without all the facts any story can be spun to seem like whatever the spinner wants people to believe.
I actually support Copwatch. I think 90% of them are there for the right reasons. The other 10% are just idiots with an agenda.

All of this just makes me sick to the stomach.

One of the worst police shootings I have seen was the gunning down of John T Williams - A partially deaf Native American Whitler.

It just seems to be getting worse.

What strikes me as strange is that there are still people out there wondering if martial law will be implemented. I say look around and if you still don't think it's martial law, step out of line and see the result.

lol, the police state is already here

here in PR as of a few months ago the police commissioner
authorized use of deadly force at the "1st sign of any kind of resistance"

it should be noted PRPD is just as if not more corrupt than NYPD
and has a long history of use by local government to harass and kill political dissidents
[usually with fbi backing]
and activists that cause trouble for the party in power or the oligarchy
