I would agree with that but I think it would have been more effective to make an official statement that said he didn't have any roommates and that information was false.

Legally a retraction is an admission of them doing something wrong, that would only serve to garner more attention to those who were not involved.

It's their interpretation, they know no more than the rest of us.

But what makes it a mistake important enough to remove. Surely it's removal means the reporters feared some kind of action for getting that one thing wrong?

Is it because the records were public and anyone could check them therefore making the reporters look dumb? Somebody should check those records..if we knew what they were.

Correct me if Im wrong and as I am not totally sure of US legalities I probably am way off with this thought...but could the missing information have been removed due to the judge sealing the case?

Reports are starting to circulate that Holmes was taking deadly drugs which may have led to his killing rampage.

Like virtually all massacre shooters before him, the notorious Batman shooter James Holmes is now reported to have been taking hardcore pharmaceutical drugs. In Holmes’ case, they happen to be the very same drugs that ultimately led to the early death of actor Heath Ledger. With a fix for ‘altering his state of mind’, the ‘Batman shooter’ was heavily hooked on the prescription painkiller Vicodin. Read more: naturalsociety.com...

Is this truth or just more deception.

No wonder he was acting so drugged out at his hearing..... and I mean ACTING like the rest of the players in this show.

Unfortunately I feel that if they went through the trouble of removing that information from all of those other sources that they probably already changed the data in the public records.

If he had 2 roommates then they could've spent months setting him up. It also makes sense if there were 3 people involved in the shooting: One to take the call and prop open the door, the other one to enter the theater firing and then a third one to be the patsy sitting in the car, not knowing what's going on because he's out of it. The roommates weren't really roommates but CIA?

Just my thoughts...

I thought a retraction, was just an admission to an error in an earlier report (I guess it helps avoid legal liability if they retract in writing), but regardless... I thought the retraction helps avoid being liable with a false report.

Technically speaking, what seems more liable?

Error reporting with a retraction

or

Error reporting and just erasing/editing everything days later in an attempt that said report never existed?

Technically, the original story is just that. It has never been retracted. It just has been edited to fit today's official time line. So, without the retraction, the original reports still stand (even if it's just via a Cache/ Screen capture).

Okay, I thought it might be all wild conjecture. It's disturbing that this and other stuff is in print. in the first place. Utter defamation of Holmes's character as if his involvement was not bad enough. What's next, child porn found on his computer hard drive, evidence of involvement with foreign terrorist organizations or anything else to paint him more sub-human than most already consider him to be.

At the moment we are just waiting for the main trial to begin. On another note has President Obama stated or not that Holmes is guilty because I remember another time when a previous President passed an opinionated verdict against Charles Manson and the was a bit of an uproar about it.

That is exactly the type of thing they are most likely trying to prevent.
No one wants to be harassed simply for being in proximity to someone that did something that was beyond their control. You don't even know that those records are up to date. As I stated, some of my records stayed on old apartments for years, and some still list me at wrong addresses.

It depends on what is being retracted.
For example, if they named me as being a neighbor, I would prefer that they remove the information, and send me a personal apology or settlement. I certainly wouldn't want my information to continue to be listed in connection with something like that. People have lost jobs, been stalked, harassed, received death threats, etc. over this kind of incorrect reporting.

I bet you anything that *snip* was one of his roommates, along with that female.
He had TWO roommates. One male. One female.

*they are trying to make it sound like this is really not about anything important.... we just wanted to have a short chat with him. Pffft. Right

But nooooooooooooo............ the media uses their (ineffective**) jumbo eraser and tries to backtrack

**we're too fast for you, MSM

i interpreted the significance of him having roomates,, as,, how/why didnt the roomates know something was up when holmes was buying all these weapons and bombs and triggered the house to explode

I can only assume the roommates (if there were roommates) were CIA spooks who are not supposed to be known to exist. Hence them trying to erase any footprints of the leaked information.

The controlled detonation of his apartment to rid it of explosives seems a convenient way to get rid of any left over dna connecting 'inside' people to Holmes.

Not that spooks can be found in your average database...
