The huffington post is a liberal rag. CUT SPENDING! That can reduce the deficit. If you charge too much on your credit cards, what do you do? Ask for a raise? Maybe, but you also cut spending.

The current trend of cutting spending while cutting taxes is not the way to get rid of the debt. It's like trying to pay off credit cards you no longer use by making the minimum payments. It will take forever to pay off the debt due to interest. people pay off card by increasing the amount of payments while cutting the spending on the cards.

The second, and more critical conclusion from Table 1 is that the next four years of the Bush Presidency after the 2003 reduction in tax rates saw a 44% increase in Federal tax revenues from $1.782 trillion to $2.568 trillion. That’s correct – a 44% increase in revenues after the so-called “tax break for the wealthy.”

simply put.....

end the bank bailouts like yesterday......

got through the budget line by line, cut the crap that is just there so that someone's brothers, wife's father's, best friend's cousin and have alot more money....that most, if not all americans really don't care about, or worse, really don't want!!

then well, figure out how much money we are gonna need to the best of their ability

come up with as accurate a guess as possible as to how much we are gonna have coming in...and remember, we are heading back into recessions, and well, the do hurt the revenue stream!!

find out how much we are lacking for a bare bones budget, increase the taxes for provide 50%, cut the budget by 50%,

but,...................pass the pain around!!
the rich shouldn't be exempt, the job creators shouldn't be exempt, the poor shouldn't be exempt, the public workers shouldn't be exempt, the healthcare industry shouldn't be exempt, the universities shouldn't be exempt, the military shouldn't be exempt, no one should be exempt!!!!

if we are one nation under god, well, we can get through this as one people sharing the load!!!
