This is what we call an ad hominid attack. It's generally what people resort to when they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

One thing I need to get clear is what the witnesses saw when they said this guy took a cell phone call and walked out the emergency exit door. Questions: What was he wearing? Did his face look like the photo of the suspect? Did he have his hair dyed red? Did he speak on the phone or not? Was he already dressed all in black?

I can't imagine an insane guy going out to his car and putting on all the kevlar gear and a head and face mask and getting all geared up and then going back inside to kill. He's doing all this dressing and gearing up in the parking lot or in his little car? It takes a few minutes to get all that stuff on and get geared up and he's in full view of anyone who happens to drive through the parking lot? That's kind of weird.

The cops, the press or someone needs to explain how he managed to open one of those doors from the outside. Like others have said, those kind of doors usually don't open from the outside and if their excuse is that he kicked it open, that is total BS, you don't kick open doors made like that.

As others have said, the ending doesn't add up and I'm suspecting that none of it adds up. This guy sure did a lot of planning and work for you know someone who "just snapped" and I don't think the average med student knows how to booby trap anything. How did he learn that?

The "official story" so far is that he is a lone gunman and kicked in the metal fire door that only opens outwards.(impossible)

If you're mom died in the attack, perhaps you'd best lay off CT sites until you come to terms with your grief.

People here are going to analysis this to death and it will probably cause you distress. I know I wouldn't be online right now, instead id be with family and friends trying to make this tragedy make sense to me.

And lay off on the guys talking about Columbine, there is enough documented weirdness about that case and to have its own thread.

As has been reported, he had a ticket and sat in the front row. As the movie started, he got up and moved towards the emergency door. Could be a rock, piece of wood, or duck tape. Whatever, he came back and did what he did.

it's been suggested that he may have taped it, blocked it or held it open with an object of some sort (rock maybe?) either way, getting one of those doors to remain open can sometimes be as easy as setting it softly against the latch [yes, it's risky but it's been done many times]

The one thing that has me scratching my head....is the tear gas? Why? Why did the shooter need tear gas...when everybody was focused in on the movie. Couldn't he have just opened fired....and killed MANY more people???? Did he really need tear gas, gas mask, and body armor???

Anyway, it doesn't matter, from this point on....the masses have already been hypnotized. This will be just another..."conspiracy theory"....no matter how much EVIDENCE is provided. Propaganda is very effective tool. Remember 9-11????

from the video released, there is no way it was tear gas. smoke bomb/canisters likely but no tear gas reactions from those evacuating the cinema.

nope, IF he had just opened fire, he probably would have less injured persons as many would have taken cover. the smoke bomb created a disturbance that motivated the victims toward exits as they were easily slaughtered.

lame comparison but, have you ever been in a smoke-filled bar ?
it's doubtful that you could you see who is on stage from the front door.
the cloud in the theatre likely made it difficult to see who was next to you so yes, a gas mask would be beneficial.

My girlfriend says no those doors usually don't have alarms. She has worked in a few movie theaters. She also says none of those doors can open inwards no matter what, unless you ram a car through it or something.

To the people who said he propped the door open I say YES true..
However,
The story still stands that they are saying he kicked the door in (which was already left open)..

You see they are trying to make it dramatic.

Talking about this has made me start tasting CS gas. My ARMY training is flashing back. I feel sick.

probably, but should and did aren't even related.
i seriously doubt it would be an audible one and it's possible a visual one wasn't seen. maybe the box office was empty, maybe the attendant was in a bathroom, we could speculate alot of things but in the end, since the doors are used frequently for exiting patrons, i doubt an alarm was installed.

i dont think those door have an alarm .. just need to open it from inside
and you can go outside very quickly in case someone needs to get air
