Nerdling, seriously, you make me laugh. Do you actually think the debate are about anything except pandering?

Anyway, I support this completely. The debates are a joke anyway, he might as well be let in on the fun.

Nader was kept out even with a valid ticket, what makes Badnarik think he will stand a snowcones chance in hell of doing this? As much as I support the LP I think hes basically wasting his time on this, the big two hate competition, and would never let anyone else in on their games even if that person had every right in the world AND God's permission to be there.

I don't beleive he's actually trying to get in the debate. He wants to 1) get his name out there and 2) show himself as being serious about his candidacy. I think he's well aware he won't get anywhere near the stage.

I couldnt have said it better myself

But nerdling, like most people, is terrified of freedom and anything but what is spoonfed him by big brother. He acts as if the big two arent already promising everyone everything.

If he would really look at the LPs stand on the issues he would see that we arent offering anyone ANYTHING but the freedom that this country once stood for.

We arent giving them coke or pepsi just allowing them to choose which one, or none, that they wish.

Did he submit formal applications to join this debate?

Yes he did along with the Green party and nader all three were rejected because the big two are not gonna allow ANY opinions but their own.

You have me a little wrongly...

I hope this goes ahead and I fully support debates with the third parties. Just not in this manner. I'm well aware that most of the Libs will be republicans turned but I don't agree on principle with this.

This is the first real attempt Badnarik has made at getting in and he's doing it illegally. I'd respect him much more if he filed the proper requests and forms and then proposed a debate formally to each party. I'd listen to him and eagerly watch him talk IF he had done it the proper way. I'm going to ignore him because he's grandstanding when he knows he'll be a martyr. Its stupid and unprofessional.

See my post above he already did file the papers just like the Green party and I think Nader did also.

They were turned down because the big two WILL NOT ALLOW ANY OTHER PARTIES IN THE DEBATES.

It is one of the conditions of the debates that NO other parties are allowed.

Is it a stunt? Of course it is he will not be allowed in the debates but hopefuly this will shine some light on the process that only allows two people to speak for almost 300 million

My apologies. I was unaware he had filed the neccessary papers.

I still say this is not the right road. There is no freedom of speech violation either, he has no right to attend as the debates are run by the CPD and not the federal government.

Make up your mind first you say he should be allowed if he just would file the proper papers nad now you say it doesnt matter

Why dont you just admit that you dont want him allowed to speak?

Nerdling is in scotland anyway, he doesn't really speak as an american.

Go for it Badnarik! Civil disobedience at its best! You want a candidate who fights for our freedom? Meet Mr. Badnarik.

I'm so excited I'm about to piss my pants.

I wish all the 3rd party candidates would get together and do this with each other (ie. storm the place). Maybe the likes of Nader, Badnarik, Cobb, Petrouka (spelling
), would get their chances with the "Big" 2.

Although I am seriously doubting, like I stated before, the media will even cover this since they are just as much a contributing factor as the Candidates themselves.

I want to see him speak. I really do. What I don't want is this grandstanding protestor being carted off in chains in front of the massed media. Do you seriously believe people will look upon him as an oppressed darling? He'll be lampooned by the media who will constantly repeat a man running for the Presidency being led off in handcuffs or being tackled by SS agents.

Is it wrong that he's not allowed to speak? It depends. You can't crash a party then talk about being denied free speech then expect people to welcome you to their table?

Is the 2 party system wrong? I don't believe so, Infact, I think it provides a great deal of balance, the world is not being controlled by these 2 parties. People still vote for them so don't talk like they're installed, most know about third parties but they're plain and simple not going to vote for them.

I want to see him speak, it's a shame he can't do so and he'll take away republican votes instead of democratic ones so i'm not motivated to stop him by swinging undecideds against dems.

I want Bush out of office. Some people want Abortions and Gay Marriages but sometimes you just dont get what you want however right it seems. It sucks but its life.

There is a right way to do things, and a wrong way to do things. Just because you got screwed on the right way doesnt allow you to try the wrong way carte blanche.

Good luck to the man, I can't wait to see the look on El Presidentes face.

What happens if he gets arrested? Do you think that some people supporting him now will think "candidates can't go around getting arrested" and change their vote? Or will it cause such a stir that people say " wow, who the hell is this guy" and vote FOR him?

Or will the mainstream media just neglect to cover the story altogether?

Hey Nerdling, read this: www.cs.indiana.edu...

Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau

I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe--"That government is best which governs not at all"; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which the will have.

It's coming Baby!

If all Americans felt this way we would still be one of your colonies

How is a system that blacks out ANY opinion other than those it chooses fair? You are somewhat wrong about people knowing about third parties how can they compete against the two parties that not only control the media but also have and endless supply of OUR (the Tax payers) money to spend promoting the two handpicked sides of the same coin?

You say that with such contempt. Spot of tea?

I'm in a particularly freedom loving mood actually, tomorrow morning is the state opening of the Scottish Parliament. A wonderful day for us Scots.

But the "system" is not blanking you out. The CPD is a foundation of businessmen not the Federal Government so the CPD can skew it however it likes even though its immoral. Don't mistake Democratic/Republican voters as uninformed naieve citizens who know little about third parties because you'll find thay many do. You're not being oppressed, you're just not garnering enough support.

If you get 5% of the total vote this November then you qualify for full federal funding.

Do you honestly believe that Libertarians would be free of corruption if elected?

I hope that this does happen. Because to be frank, otherwise its going to be boring to the core. Too bad he does not have an high enough pecentage to be included like Perot was..

I hope we get the 5% we will be close

I have no doubt sooner or later the Libertarians will become corupted when they get into office, but whats in their favor is our ENTIRE platform consists of weakening the government as much as possible in other words what is the point of bribing someone that basically cant do a damn thing for you?

Do you honestly believe the two parties we have NOW are not corrupt? So we should keep two parties we KNOW are corrupt in office because the new one MIGHT become corrupt?

Thats some pretty twisted logic
