At least 12 reported killed at Dark Knight Rises premiere shooting in Colorado movie theater

always seems to be something like this happening somewhere in america, why on earth are guns so freely available in the USA? insane.

At least 12 moviegoers were reportedly killed and 20 injured at a cinema in the Colorado city of Aurora in the Denver suburbs. They were attending a midnight showing of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.

Man, you can't even go to see a movie now without getting shot up.
And that poor little girl.

I'm not against the USA's right to own guns but seriously.Wasn't the US built on these so called rights.
But these things are rare in other parts of the world where guns require licences and people don't feel the need to carry one.
If I get into trouble I don't need a gun to back me up, if my two fists can't win the day then I might get a hiding or maybe only a bloody nose. But if I carried a gun I may be tempted to use it, which is the worrying concern.
You cant do anything about nut-bags, they will kill if they have access to guns yet if he didn't have a gun 12 people may not be dead. He may have had a knife and sadly killed one or two before being subdued.
Well I have now changed my original statement. I am against guns. 12 sets of Parents may well back me up.
Only in a society that is riddled with gun carriers and owners do you need to own one as well, which is why you see so many cases such as this.
I live in Australia and I have never held a gun or seen one fired. You can keep your guns to yourselves.

terrible, i feel for the families of the victims. there were several gunman with at least one explosive device in a car. there are some sick people in the world. it is easier to buy a firearm illegally than it is to go through the paperwork legally, not to mention the mexican border is just a car ride away. with any weapon you could want available for the right price. so i don't understand how people think banning firearms will affect the gun related crime rate.

Ive been saying it for the past 3 or 4 months, not so much here as I do in my personal life, but we are going to start seeing a lot of this type of violence that involves guns here in America and other countries where the population can buy guns. It's just getting started and what a coincedence, it's all going to happen right when Obama is negotiating with the UN about a gun ban.
To the person above who said they can't believe guns are still available in America. Even if they were banned, the criminals will still get guns if they want them while their prey are left unarmed. Now if these ppl who were there when this shooting took place exercised their right to bear arms and some of the law abiding citizens had a gun on them, the person that killed 12 ppl may not even have killed 1 person. Somebody could have just lit him up the second he took aim at another person.

It's tragedies like this, that will get our guns taken. I believe these are just small shootings that are going to lead up to a huge tragedy where maybe thousands are gunned down in one incident carried about by more than one person.

These shootings are not a coincedence or random acts of violence.

This always makes me wonder how far they got on projects like MKULTRA or any other mind control experiments they were trying to figure out over 50 yrs ago.
Maybe these projects were very successful?! We would never know.
These shooters, it seems like they are always on some kind of medication and they never remember the shooting.

Just some advice, we all might want to avoid places where there are large groups of people and if your state allows you to get a permit to carry a gun, get that permit and don't be shy about carrying that gun. You may save lives.
NEVER let them take our guns.
