George Takei's blog on the BSA reaffirmation of the ban on LGBT Scouts & Leaders

It's my humble opinion that the BSA's long-proven track record of producing quality, high integrity individuals more than justifies their policies.

Don't like it? Start up your own private organization with it's own set of rules/requirements, and leave the Boy Scouts to themselves. They've obviously been doing something right for oh, say about the last hundred years.

I think I saw old news footage of the KKK making the same claim.... we see how that turned out....
The past 100 years is just that, the past. We are moving to the future now and it's time they adapt or die out.

The KKK is a hate group, and the BSA is anything but.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and if disallowing gays causes the Boy Scouts to die out, then that is what will happen. Doesn't seem to be happening though.

But the fundamentalist evangelicals that are controlling the BSA ARE a hate group and they are the ones pulling the strings. When their ties are broken and they are no longer the puppet masters, everything else will go away and they can become the group they were meant to be..... the Boy Scouts of AMERICA, not the Boy Scouts of the evangelical fundamentalist extremists. Until then, since they are controlled by a hate group, they are a hate group.


The GSA, on the other hand, are very accepting of other sexual orientations and are thriving right now, well beyond the BSA on all accounts.

the faux news is the worst weapon the hate group has.... it's a shame that they pass themselves off as a news source instead of what they really are, a hategroup focusing on television shows as opposed to internet blogs.

Oh...my bad. I thought it was about a private club consistently not allowing itself to be forced to compromise it's principles.

I must have missed the part about being gay changing one's potential, so I wasn't speaking to that at all.

FOX news isn't news -- its entertainment. They can say anything they want whether its true or not.

They won a court case in (guess where) Florida - - - that says they are entertainment and not bound by reporting facts.

Not that I know of, I was referring to the level of kindness and respect the boys have for each other and their helpfulness towards the community, and how well the older scouts work to bring up the younger scouts. I'm always impressed with our troop, and very proud of them.

The adult leadership is there primarily for health and safety reasons, and the boys do all the planning and work.

Not at all what they're being portrayed as in this stupid thread, so I'm compelled to defend them and their organization.

I honestly think the anti-gays - - - - fear current factual information.

They link material that is at least 20 years old. (not to mention the 2000+ year old material)

They link material that's been debunked - discredited - or out right lies.

Its down right scary that a man in a prominent influential position like Huckabee - - who I assume is intelligent - - continues to promote stupidity.

Well - - I'm old enough to remember George Wallace - - the Great White Hope of Alabama. What a pathetic historical figure he became.
