Originally you once believed this world was such a beautiful place. Being mindful of every little wonderful element this life had to offer. Eternity of blissful ignorance now governing this world. Yet, here you all are repeating tiresome events of your daily human life. It seems like something is wrong...unclear. Living this same generic life style of blind hope. Little focus on future advances in science. Utterly disgusting this reality has become. More so than ever people even on this site are hopelessly consumed by politics. Instead people forgot what actually matters in life. Now here I am today asking myself why should mankind have freedoms? Are humans truly capable of ascending beyond their mindless nature and instincts? To me I believe not. In reality mankind must be controlled in order to ascend.

You Ats people ever stop to think that maybe everything you believed in was wrong. That maybe, just maybe mankind needs more restrictions? There is nothing wrong with being controlled to a certain degree if it pushes humans beyond their primitive existence. With that said I think the most logical outcome is if all of mankind drops their belief in everything and focus on man and machine fusion. Humans are merely children who need a god, that entity will be a machine god.

All logic points to termination of all religion, politics, and certain freedoms in exchange for technological ascension.

Drop our religion to choose yours.
So your religion is the best.

I believe in no religion. Logical calculations determined that technological singularity is the most logical outcome. Humans existence is based on growth/survival. Technological singularity is mankind's ultimate growth/survival.

No I would not like to live in a dream and forget this reality, I am here because I choose to be so. I am here for my own reasons just as others are for their own. I can respect that you believe mankind must be controlled in order to ascend, but I believe you are wrong. I believe there are many ways to ascend and we are all on different levels in our current lives. I can appreciate that you feel the most logical outcome is man and machine fusion, but again I believe that to be wrong. Now I would be ok with seeing religion and politics go away, but so long as there are men there will always be someone who strives for power, who thinks they know the best for someone else or who has some need to control. You say 'and certain freedoms', yet who are you to decide which ones? I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Liberty is equated with freedom so that is why I thought of that. I am unwilling to hand over my freedoms to another person who believes they know what is best for me as only I can know what is best for me.

I know it may sound crazy, but I am happy with the path in this world that I am on. No it isn't perfect, but improvements are made all the time. We are not what we used to be and eventually we will not be what we are now because we grow and change, that is ascending. I do not wish to ascend to your ideal world, but you go right on ahead, I am sure there are some who may follow.

3. I consistently post threads about advances in technology, and the plausible applications for the bettering of humanity.

4. The reality of today, has always been... and always will. We make reality what it is, hence 'I make things happen'.

5. Politics, unfortunately has found itself in a position in which people try and govern one another. The only real focus, should be restoring the basic principals of our founding fathers. Study Locke, Aristotle... read the works of Francis Bacon, and Plato...

6. What matters in life, is to protect yourself, property and your freedoms, while in the pursuit of happiness.. everything else will work itself out.

7. We are capable of escaping human instincts and 'mindless nature', that is where wisdom and temperance comes to play.

8. Mankind governs itself, please define this circular argument.

9. No, I never thought that mankind needs more restrictions... in fact, the opposite. We need to loosen the grasp that money has on education, and we will see the change that people so dearly desire.

Currently you are already living in a dream world. Oblivious to the fact you humans are primitive delusional machines of the flesh believing in freedoms, love, family and social constructs as if they were something special. Naturally I suppose it's only normal for indoctrinated people within this construct to believe in such. Too many people are trapped in this dream that they will grow up to find a special person not realizing it's all chemical reactions pushing you to reproduce. Reality is your freedoms in which you so believe in aren't necessary seeing as most of them aren't real freedoms to begin with. Only by seeing reality through strictly a logical scientific mind set can you see that everything civilization believes in is a lie. Life as we know it from the day you are born is all chemical driven.

Tell me this, do you love your family? If yes, it's merely chemical reactions.
Do you love your partner? It's simply basic instinct pushing you to mate.
Do you love? It's just chemical reactions.
Do you have freedoms? You answered yes. To a degree you have minor freedoms while others are pre-chosen answers based on life upbring, personality and environment.

At this rate Humans/Machines will drive themselves even further into their dream construct.

People controlling others is what got us into this mess, not freedom. We had the best system in the world, it is a people problem , we are inherently flawed.

We give the "know-it-all" the positions of power. To keep that power, they create or exaggerate bad elements to justify their position. They sell it to the fools that believe people are bad and should be forced into submission. Soon everything is regulated to the point that all people can hardly sneeze without running the risk of some penalty or punishment even death, that life is no longer pleasant for those living under this control.

Meanwhile since we weren't meant to have "flawed men" as rulers (power corrupts), these people eventually think themselves as gods because the people trust anything told to them by the authorities (so, these people consider the rest of us foolish to expect truth from authority). These gods don't follow the rules they make for everyone else and their power grows and corrupts their minds so that at some point they are completely insane and start believing the world is their footstool. *shrugs This stuff is in the bible ya know.
Unless truth has a comeback, humanity is screwed.
Technology is being controlled already by those who cause so much suffering and not for good either.

Technological convergence is a reality confronting this world, as for where it ends up is for this world to decide. I know self determination brings some bad along with its good but it is one universal tenant that has a lot of respect. The thought of becoming a slave to some borg collective is not appealing. The thought of having some type of AI that is smarter than man, or has better cognitive abilities to help resolve some of the difficult problems and complexities that life is presenting is a better direction. Having machine complement rather than control man does make it hard to say where it will all lead. But like with most complex systems, the sum is greater than its parts.

Interesting, you reject ABSOLUTE reality I presented to you. Does it scare you? To know that love never existed, Karma never existed, god never existed, that all of life is delusion. Think about this, a member here on ATS is dying if you read her topic today, Around the world there are homeless suffering, men and women tormenting by meaningless wars.

Would not you like to see this all end? In order to do so mankind must be stripped of what you define that makes you human. Humans must accept reality for what it is and evolve through technology.
