I prefer face to face discussions when things like that are concerned. There are too many things that could cause misunderstandings when you are talking on the phone.

I am here because of KayEm's intervention five years ago. Had she not been there at that time, I would be long dead. I don't know why you were in hospital, but I am very aware that just the very fact of being there can cause problems afterwards (I ended up with post-op depression even though I didn't actually have any operations).

Maybe she doesn't know how to approach you right now. Maybe your brush with death unnerved her. The only way you will know is to talk with her - preferably face to face as I said before.
