STALIN was responsible for Roswell

he spaceship was actually a Soviet spy plane that came down during a storm. Jacobsen claims it was filled with bizarre-looking, genetically engineered child-sized pilots. Then-Soviet leader Joseph Stalin was hoping, Jacobsen alleges, that the news would cause widespread panic in the U.S.

The story gets even stranger: The leader of the USSR had apparently been inspired by the 1938 radio adaptation of the HG Wells story "War of the Worlds," produced by Orson Welles. The broadcast triggered panic in some listeners who tuned in and mistook it for a real-life alien invasion. (Though later students of the episode claim that the media of Welles' day vastly exaggerated the scale of public alarm over the broadcast.)

And those ET-looking aviators? They were scientific experiments created by the "Angel of Death," Nazi doctor Josef Mengele, for the USSR after the war. The flight was piloted remotely, according to accounts in the book, and was filled with a crew of "alien-like children."

This theory makes more sense to me then 3 Alien bodies being kept secret for over 60 years from another Galaxy. IMHO, it was probably humans from the distant distant future. Yet, this is also a great story.

Thought I'd share.

BTW, I don't believe in "aliens".

i have never read any of Ann Jacobson's work, but from the article it sounds like this theory is just conjured out of thin air. check out Philip Corso's "The Day After Roswell". i find his account much more believable. according to Corso, not only were dead alien pilots recovered, but also a number of artifacts which he claims lead to major scientific discoveries like printed circuit boards, lasers, and night vision technology. seems unlikely that Stalin would have equipped his genetic-mutant child pilots with such things. i guess its all about what story you believe.

As I understand it, Joseph Mengele is documented to have successfully fled to South America shortly before the end of the war where he took up continued experimentation in pursuit of his fascination of twins.

At least that's one of the stories.

How did he wind up in Soviet Russia to engineer mutant children to hoax the Americans into believing aliens were happening?

Further, what aircraft, let alone experimental aircraft, were around back then that could make a flight all the way from Soviet Russia to New Mexico?

I've read the book (twice) that she wrote on area 51 and everything was very plausible until this nugget popped up at the end. It seemed to be juxtaposed and put in there only to sell more books. Such a shame. Great book otherwise.

Rather then saying alien looking children, and genetically mutated children, it is quite possible they were just dwarfs. So, there you have it. The green little aliens. We solved the mystery.

Interesting concept. I had considered that the Roswell incident was a Russian spy satelite either shot down or crashed from weather...

...This story is a lot strager though. Interesting read but I am not taking it too seriously.

Thank you, alfa1. This is one of those idiotic stories you wish would die, die, die. But it never does....

What. This is brilliant. We were at war with the Nazis during WW2, so we suddenly adopted one of state enemy to play with Americans? Also, 1947 was around when relationship between Russia and America were only just beginning to become bad. WW2 still was fresh in our minds, and we had other things to worry about, everyone did. So what was our motivation?

I'm really hoping this is intended as comedy. I mean, didn't people in the West stop blaming Russians for everything since the Cold War ended? If it wasn't so hilarious and weird, could even be considered a little offensive. But I guess this person designed such a theory because it is so controversial and weird. Because that is what sells.

It's nonsense. I forced myself to read Jacobsen's book twice. On the second pass, I went over the text page by page to identify factual errors. I found more than three dozen, and other readers have since found more.

The story about Stalin and Mengele appears to be a work of fiction. Literally. Dwayne Day, a frequent writer on overhead reconnaissance history and a senior program officer for the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board at the National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences traced the origins of this bizarre tale to a 1956 short story by James Blish that was published in Astounding Science Fiction magazine. The story, "Tomb Tapper," is about a mysterious Russian craft that crashes and is mistaken for an alien spacecraft. It is piloted by a genetically engineered child whose body is recovered from the wreckage. The parallels between the story related by Jacobsen's source and the Blish sci-fi story are impossible to ignore.

To me it is just straight forward ignorance to believe that. You obviously havem't heard anything about the honored men that told us the secrets they were sworn to keep.

Everybody should investigate before they make foolish ideas.

Here is a newer cover story meant to persuade you to look elsewhere for the truth on roswell, like another posted stated Corso is far more believable...

Another bit of evidence would be in the technology used in fighter planes, the first stealth plane was built and tested at area 51 in the late 50s... Think of all the major leaps it took from all other planes of that era, the radar evasion alone is enough proof to me that alien technology was reverse engineered and put to use a.s.a.p.

That being said, take a second or two to imagine what's in the black box now...

You believe humanity has the capability to time-travel, yet you don't believe in life outside this planet (aliens)?

You think that out of the hundreds of billions of galaxies, each with hundreds of billions of planets...earth is the ONLY place in *THIS* universe (read multiverse) with LIFE?

Of course, what better way to spread panic than by crashing it in the middle of nowhere

If the Russians were truly responsible surely they would have crashed it in a highly populated area?

Also if this were true then why wouldn't the US Army just admit it? It would have been quite a propaganda coup at the time for them to say 'Look what the sneaky Russians are up to!'.

I think this story that Maximillien mentioned on the C2CAM interview where he suddenly had to go and denied all he said, was true:

That Hitler escaped along with other Nazi in South America, that him shooting himself in the bunker is bunk (and I fully agree - isn't this just a lie to not cause panic that he was still alive?), the skull that was claimed to be his turned out to not be, in Peru Nazi were seen after WW2, so goign to Argentina and South America did happen, I do not know if he went to Antarctica, though.

WW2 ended in 1945.
Roswell happened in 1948.
Stalin put 3 year olds in an airplane all alone?
That bastard!

I think we can safely discount this story due to chronological constraints.

Why then would the us lie about it for 60 years? It would be like when the spy drone was taken down in Iran, instead of Iran saying it was a US spy plane they said it was a weather plane or ufo.

Joseph Mengele fled to South America, and I never heard of him being in Russia. While this is interesting I think it is wrong. I checked about but could not find any other researchers claiming the same thing.

There are all kinds of Nazi stories out there. I am not inclined to believe most of them.

Perhaps Jacobsen's story is true, but her source botched some of the details. Maybe Stalin & Mengle were behind the Aztec, NM saucers instead?
