Peasants Kidnapped for Businessmen who Shoot them for Pleasure

Somehow I am reminded of this scene:

When I was living in Asia I took a trip to Vietnam with a few friends. Nothing planned but the sights, sounds, partying, women...normal stuff.

We were in a local bar one night and met some locals who seemed ok and we had drinks and laughs for a few hours. After awhile, one guy pulls out a handgun and asks if we have any for our protection. Nope. Did I want to buy one? Nope. I ain't that stupid traveler getting set up for robberies, blackmail or worse.

Stepping outside later the same guy asks if we want to go hunting with him and his buddies tomorrow. For what I ask? Anything! comes the answer.

And then he asks if I have ever fired a machine gun. Nope. Grenade Launcher? Nope. Ever been behind the turret of a tank? Nope.

Here comes the weird part. He then asks how much we would pay to hunt and shoot an elephant. Didn't know there were any there but I say nothing. He said I could pay to hunt anything with any type of weapon. Tigers with a grenade. Elephants with a tank etc. This is legal I ask? Shrug.

No thanks I reply and turn to walk away. He taps me on the shoulder and says that we can hunt 2 legged creatures for $500 each. WTF? I'm thinking monkey, ape etc. I said I don't believe in hunting defenseless animals for sport and he tells me that they won't be completely defenseless as they will have a pistol and a knife. DAMN! Ain't no monkey I'm thinking.

I walked away.

To this day, I remember that exchange very well and am not completely sure as to whether he was joking or not. But I spent 8 yrs all over Asia and some of the things I saw...well let's just say many places over there are still quite untamed.

Tell me about it! I've given both guns and knives to monkeys, and they're useless. You'd think they didn't even know what they were for. And gibbons--ha! They look smart, but give 'em and gun and they just use it to scratch their backs. Lucky they don't shoot themselves! Dumber than hillbillies....

Heck, if nation states can get away with hunting whomever they want to (e.g. The US invasion of Iraq), then I can only assume that this stuff really happens, somewhere in the world. Hope not but I wouldn't be surprised.

That actually sounds like a pretty good racket! Get $500 from you and give you a cheap gun and knife for it, and then get $500 from some other guy and give him a cheap gun and knife for it, and then let you two kill each other while he is gone with your $1000! He doesn't care who lives or dies, or even if you get caught, because your story sounds unbelievable anyway. Sounds like a great way to make $1000 and get rid of half you tourists!

I didn't say I didn't believe you. I do believe you! I just think the guy that thought up that racket is a genius! It is an awesome deal, almost risk free for him.

For the record, I've never been to Asia, but I've been to cock fights and donkey shows in Jamiaca, and Ciudad Juarez! It doesn't get much seedier than that.

They do exist, but not necessarily snuff type crimes but the majority (vast majority) are human exploitation crimes like sex slavery. Psychopaths literally move from disaster area to war zone like flies. They are literally in every countries in conflict or some stage of civil war, picking off victims of war or disaster like parasites.

I can assure you that there are stories newspapers are ordered to avoid reporting on.
