I think ATS is dead.

So far nobody has found any proof of ghost, no aliens greeting humans, no end of the world, no spiritual stuff no nothing. Instead why not SUPPORT a better state of living by use of technology.

I'm not really sure what you are talking about as there is more to ATS than the paranormal...

ATS is a hot bed of useful news stories.

I lean toward the political conspiracies than anything else.

So frankly I wouldn't notice if the fringe forums are "dead" such as ghost, aliens, etc.

Prefer to keep my attention on ats on things that you know are actually happening.

I don't need ATS to prove ghosts or UFO's to me.

My life proved both to me long ago

This site leads me to more news stories than I would find on my own. Plus, this site makes me think. Just a word or a phrase sends me googling. Plus, when we get frustrated with somebody here, we can walk away - can't do that with family.

After I put in my first reply...I then read through the other replies. I have never heard of (transhumanism) before so I looked it up...and I realized that is (probably) what the OP is talking about.

I'm surprised... only one person so far noticed that this thread has nothing to do with ATS and everything to do with transhumanism. Not going to happen, at least fairly. Humanity is just too immature, and such advancements will most definitely be used for military purposes. It's like giving an 8 year old the keys to a Ferrari and making him drive down populated streets. :shk:

There some interesting possibility's that could arise from the transhumanist movement. Extended Life, No susceptibility to disease and the end of starvation.

However the farther we go down this road, the darker the path behind us becomes. There will be no turning back and eventually the darkness would catch up to us. When our ambition to be more than we are undoes what we were and will be, then our chance for ascension will be forever lost.

A little disappointed some here did not pick it up sooner, perhaps the old adage "cannot see the forest through the trees" applies.

Precisely! Since we are on ATS, and fringe theories abound, I'll toss in the gray alien theory for kicks.

Aren't the supposed 'grays' a symbol for what transhumanism can result in unabated? Constant tinkering through biogenics and manipulations have supposedly rendered the gray alien race on the brink of extinction. The only thing keeping them alive is their technology. Natural reproduction and individual thought are just a few of the 'human' qualities lost to them.

They apparently have abandoned all natural ties to the sun and its inherent life giving forces.

Maybe the analogy of they 'greys' are a construct of our human fears of transhumanism unabated?

Mother earth (nature) can be a beautiful and wonderful gal indeed.

But for those that think she is all wonderful, I would suggest getting them to strip down to all mother nature provided him/her with and spend a month nude in our northern forests. With the crow sized mosquitos, bears, horseflies, etc (and assuming it's summer and not 40 below winter) see how much you LOVE dear mother nature.

Mother nature has never truely loved 'man'. She has always tried to kill us. She is ruthless. Only because we were able to OVERCOME her ferocity and conquer her have we been able to survive as a species.

The shelter we build, the clothes we weave, the fields we sow, is all done to PROTECT us from the harsh realities of dear mother nature. We have evolved to this point because of our abilities to conquer her.

Calling for the extinction of our race is for neanderthals. Buh-bye.
