Curious EVP at Loveland Castle

I am putting this up for the purpose of learning. I am visiting my sister and her husband. We visited Loveland Castle this morning and I asked a question while recording inside that location. Here is a link to their website so you can learn about the back ground.

Here is a link to the question and the response.I captured this with a Sony ICD-UX512 recorder in stereo at CD quality (LPCM 44khz). I then analyzed with Audacity and slowed down by 72% the phrase after (his response).

To me, it sounds like 3 single syllable words in direct response to my somewhat provocative question. I should point out that my question was in jest as I did not expect any response, let alone such an angry tone. I have the utmost respect personally for what this individual did.

So, can you please listen and tell me what you hear? I have my suspicions as myself, wife, sister and brother in law all came to the same interpretation. After a few responses I will post what we think we heard.

Please do not flame this or go through elaborate attempts to troll. I am looking for honest feedback related to the recording and any advice form the experts out there on technique or links to learn from. I also welcome others EVP experience as I am new to this myself.

Sounds like something moved or shuffled through the room, I listened a few times, what do you think it was saying

Okay...the LAST word definitely sounds like "YOU".

It really sounds like:
"HOW...DARE...YOU!"

"a lot of bad wolves" ?

Its so hard to try and separate the two tones im hearing here, there's a high pitched voice and a deeper one, its more earth bound, almost alive male voice

Thats what I heard on the soundcloud recording.

It seems to me like a direct response. It sounds vocal, probably male, and possibly irritated..
However, I can't make out what it says.. I don't think it's possible to hear what is being said.. any guess would be exactly that... a guess.
Cool EVP though. Is it any clearer when it's not slowed down so much?

Thanks for all the replies! To answer a question, when it is sped up it sounds like street noise, so indistinguishable.

One of the folks I let hear this said it sounds like "I built This", to me that sounds more probable.

But as was posted above, it's hard to really tell and all of this is a guess. I appreciate the feed back.

Again, any EVP'ers out there, please feel free to offer some tips.

Actually, it DOES sound like "SAC-RI-FICE!" ...whoa...creepy!

I've listened to it several times and will probably listen several more. But to be honest, I don't think we'll ever know. Is the file uploaded the slowed down version? If not, could you upload that one? That could really help, I think.

Yeah, I can agree with you on that I'm hearing "fice" as the last syllable. And to be honest, that's the only word I can think of that ends with that. After my last post, only took two more listens before I heard something, then I read your comment and bam. lol

I am just trying to understand the context. When you say the question was in "jest" it is a very strange question. What was your motivation for asking this question?

It is three sounds, but they are descending in intensity. Have you considered that it is one word, with an echo / reverb

I.e. WHAT?

Is there any reason to suspect that the spirit / entity if present even understood what a "boy scout camp" is, considering the Scout movement wasn't really conceived until 1907. Just trying to be logical.

However, please explain exactly what you situation was and where you were when this recording took place??

Thank you for your interest in this.

The situation was that the tour guide had just finished telling us about the history and how it started as a boy scout camp. He then stated that the dungeon was to the left and down the damp, cold stone stairs.

When we were in the dungeon, I had the recorder running and I said aloud, "Why would you build a dungeon in a boy scout camp" So we were all in the dungeon.
